An incredibly good 3rd liner, incredibly bad 1st liner.

He doesn't mesh with smart players who play a cycle game like ROR. Is way too "shoot first" to play with Eichel.

He needs to be on a North/South line like he's on now.

- sbroads24

he needs to be in the top-six now

good...trade him...trade bogo too...you've just created two more holes in the roster that you or somebody else would fill with a player that they know very little about outside of stats
- Michael Pachla

This defense won't be much worse off with Bogosian off it. As far as I am concerned, he is one of the holes that needs to be filled.

I consider my team better with him on the third line, which is all that matters.
- buffalofan19

with two of Moulson, ennis and Foligno playing in the top six?

Why do I want to kill the production of both Evander Kane and the top 6?

It's rare, but I totally agree with your summary of Kane.
He does have jam and is perfect for 3rd line. His shoot from the blue line, off the glass and out the opposite side is frustrating to top 6 players who drive possession.

We will have an issue getting a solid player back without adding + & +.
That said, gotta do it as his cost on the 3rd line is too much.

Yes.

The top 6 is still in need of an upgrade, but Kane isn't the answer. He's playing his best hockey since coming here by a mile by not being on the top 6.

Bogo is a hole in the roster.

Kane would be used to add a D man.

Are you seriously happy with this roster right now?

Guess how many teams have less wins than us? I'll give a hint, it's less than 3, more than 1

Just about anybody at this point. The decrease in production, if any, is more than made up by the cap space that is freed up.

Unfortunately, I'm not nearly as optimistic as others that Las Vegas will take the bait.

to see exactly where he's at on this team with this group of forwards...injury or not, ennis can't hack it...Foligno is too slow...Moulson is even slower...kane is the only left wing on the roster that can keep up with Eichel and the only one that has the skill to play with o'reilly and Okposo...

plus, he's proven to be 100% healthy...

get him up there now

I find the Kane situation very difficul to judge. On one hand he has been excellent the past while, speed is unreal, on the other hand there is all the other off ice crap that no body likes to see. My biggest issue is his next contract, as some have said hes found a nice spot on the third line where hes not up against top dmen, can use his speed and physicality very well in the situation he is in, which seems perfect for him.

However, Kane does not seem like the kind of player to take any sort of discount when it comes to contracts, hes making 5+ million now would he sign for less? Do we want 5+ million on the third line? If he continues to produce this way they will have to pay him if they want to keep him, so this side makes me say trade him NOW!!! But, as we have seen when hes on his game hes is a very good player, one that I'd rather not lose.

Going to be an interesting situation with him this offseason/TDL

Is Connor Sheary better than Hagelin or Kessel?
It's about finding 3 lines that mesh well
U absolutely DO NOT need your best 6 players in the "top6"
Pittsburgh just proved that

I like Kane
But how can anyone deny that he's been at his best playing on the 3rd line instead of one of the top 2?
SBroads has a good point
He "fits" better with a center like Girgensons as opposed to O'Reilly or Eichel

And imo... that's a good thing!
Having a 3rd line that can score is very important in today's game

Yes it is, especially on a team where secondary scoring has been nonexistent for quite a while now.

Why did Kane get a year and a half to recover from his injury, get acclimated to new teammates, all the clichés, but Ennis is just not good enough?

I like the way Kane is playing on the third line and I love the way that line is producing with him on it. But it seems we're forgetting how well 9-15-23 played together for the last 5 weeks of the season last year.

I don't know which of the combinations works better, and I'm not inclined to do the research, but I reject the idea that Kane can't play with Eichel. He's demonstrated that he can.

The production now is better than it was last season.

Nobody is saying he can't play with Eichel. They are saying that both he and Eichel are better when not playing with each other.

You're just wrong here sir
U don't take Kane out of a spot where he's playing very good & put him in a spot where he's been less successful
That's dumb

That was a pretty small sample size though
but even if I agreed...
Kane is doing so well where he's at now,
Why mess with that?
Doesn't make sense

The best option right now is to trade Kane he's playing lights out right and his true value is high right now

I don't want to be in the situation next year Where We're in the playoffs and we don't trade him at the deadline and we lose him in free agency for nothing

It's ironic. Everyone loves to pile on Bylsma for not using players in a role they are best suited for (and some of that criticism is warranted), but are eager to move Kane out of the role he's produced the best by quite a large margin.
