Foligno has been with Eichel since game 34 of the season (12/27 vs Red Wings was first game) - they have now played 50 total games, so 17 with that line together. Eichel is the constant with Foligno, Reinhart wasn't on that line until the most recent 8 games

Stats for that line on the season

Foligno:
8 G, 7 A on the season
4 G, 1 A since 12/27
ZERO points in his last 10 games

Eichel:
12 G, 9 A on the season
7 G, 6 A since 12/27 (in 17 of his 29 games)
6 of those points are on the PP, which Foligno isn't on the ice for

Reinhart:
10 G, 20 A on the season
1 G, 2 A since joining the Foligno/Eichel line in 8 games
2 of those 3 points were on the PP, which Foligno isn't on the ice for

Record since that time: 8-7-2
Buffalo is 4-5-1 in their last 10 - those last 10 games noted above that Foligno has zero points

- stashu

Sam Reinhart has 3 points in his last 10 games (0 goals)
O'Reilly has 6 points in 10 games, with one very generous assist last night that should have been Okposo's (Also, 1 goal in 10 games)

Ristolainen has 1 freaking point in his last 10 games.

Maybe the brunt end of the criticism shouldn't be the 4th liner who's maybe not on the right line, and directed towards the guys paid, or drafted to make differences

Once Bylsma is removed, everything will be a-okay.

First, and not that it's impressive, but Reinhart has 1 G, 2 A in his last 10.

Second, the bolded is kind of reinforced by the stat spewage that perhaps the 3rd/4th liner on a line with the team's biggest star and their other #2 overall pick is causing issues with goal scoring there.

coach change won't fix the issue, long term

top 9 in a mumbled mess

I am starting to think we need 2 lw'ers

nylander will fill one of those slots

d is still a clusterf@uck

goaltending is average

special teams is blah

Maybe, but Reinhart and Eichel were drafted #2 because they have the ability to make players around them better.

If people want to try Carrier there, go for it. But this team has a bunch of guys not doing there job right now, and a few that are.

Reinhart had a golden opportunity twice, and shot it into Hank's blocker, and then shot one over the net on a back hand. It's not all Foligno

Sell any UFA

Draft Nico or Patrick

Okposo-ROR-Nico/Patrick
Nylander -Eichel - Reinhart

Sell Kane and a pick 2/3 for a d-man.
Sell Bogo for a 2/3

Thing is, they ARE trying to make him better but he is who he is. I witnessed it first hand. the D shades over to their left to force they play to Foligno's side, then it just ends. Since Jack's return, if you watch carefully, he's double teamed almost every time he touches the puck. he can get space using Sam with give and gos but Sam cant do what Jack can, which is make space for himself. He's not that kind of player. So they shade coverage that way, the wide open man is Foligno, and when he gets it.....meh. If Jack doesn't do it all (mostly) by himself, it doesn't get done. They should try Carrier there or just put Kane there and hope he stops being such a hog. Foligno does NOT work there at all.

I don't disagree. This team however is so inconsistent, it's scary.

Outside of Sam's 14 points in 13 game streak, he has 16 points in 37 games. That's like a 35 point pace outside of one small segment of the year.

Not to discount his streak, but he needs to be better

Foligno kills plays due to lack of talent. He tries hard, but he doesn't have it.
Ennis, like Kane has proved he can't play with ROR...tried it last year and again this year and it is a dismal failure.
But hey, let's keep trying there...proving Bylsma ain't Einstein.

How about we give Ennis his last shot by playing LW for Eichel and see what happens for 5 -6 games. If it isn't there, then he has zero value to this team going forward.
Trade him for whatever one can get.

I've been saying this team needs 2 top 6 LWs...and we all know about the D needs.
They'd are still several moves away with
TDL
Pre-expansion draft period

To make the necessary moves.

looking at the 2017 draft, assuming we get a top 10 pick

there is no lw'ers in the top 10
centers, rw, d men

I think it's time to be sellers now
Ship out franson, kulikov, gionta (if you can), nilsson
Try to unload Moulson, Gorges, Bogo, Ennis
Turn the page from Foligno
and finish this rebuild

Move Okposo to LW, he played there with Tavares
Move ROR to LW he has played there before
Move Reinhart to the dot

Finish the year with

ROR, Eichel, Baptiste
Okposo, Reinhart, Bailey
Kane, Girgensons, Fasching
Carrier, COR, Schneider

McCabe, Risto
Falk, Fedun
Nelson, Burgdoerfer

with your pick in the top 10, draft the best player available

And Bylsma get one more year to see what he can do.
If this team is still struggling with consistency issues by Jan 31 2018...then bye bye Disco Dummy

the only way he should be back, is if murray tells him to tank the rest of the season

then again, murray may have told him that after the 3 ot wins, based on last 3 games

I fully expect the Sabres pick to be top 5 this year barring any crazy lottery turnout.

I really think if they are in the 4 to 6 range at the draft

They are going to part ways with a prospect or 2 as well as multiple picks to fix the D and draft Owen Tippett

Thats what im getting at though. Its probably their best/last chance to land a d-man without having to move someone like reinhart.

They need 2 guys, one of them on the level of risto. that package gets them another bogosian.

Haven't we seen enough? Even the few times this team has been healthy he believes in parking the bus and/or grinding down the other team.....the players we have on this team don't fit that mold

EDIT: and before anyone says "blah blah we need better players blah"...Eichel, Rhino, Kane, Okoposo, ROR, Risto, McCabe...and when they are playing in their proper role on the 3rd line...Foligno and Girgs......thats alot of talent and most of them are not the "grind um down" type..

my guess is bogo will still be here, or gorges

player x - risto
mccabe- bogo
guhle-fedun
nelson

or
mccabe-risto
guhle-player y
gorges-fedun
risto

if they move both gorges and bogo, bonus

Oh no I agree on that....but what if he brings the speed up? Does Disco adjust, because I certainly haven't seem him do that yet.
