Would you go back and trade Our first ( Nylander ) for Shattenkirk IF he had signed an extension?
- Thedeuce

Ask me after I see Nylander for more than 10 games in a Sabres uniform

at this point I don't think I want to go one way or the other

This is the most egregious proof yet that the guy has to go.

Groulx or Gallant NOW

- Der Kaiser

This is also why he kept Grant, plays foligno up to 20 minutes sometimes, put Carrier on the top line, and thinks gorges can play with risto. murray needs to sober up and find a coach.

I don't get it. Okposo, Kane, ROR, even Eichel are incredibly hard on the puck and on the forecheck. They are tough to play against.

People are seriously reaching for ways to criticize Bylsma.

This team needs defense, defense, and then more defense. Then another top 6 forward

- sbroads24

I don't know how you define "hard on the puck" or "hard on the forecheck" but of the four you identify I would say only Kane throws his body around on the forecheck. (Btw, foligno Girgs, carrier and dLo do that too.)

But Okposo ROR and Eichel - and the rest of the Top 9 - forecheck through positioning and (generally legal) stickwork.

And while positioning and stickwork might under some definition be "hard on the forecheck" and hard on the puck" it's NOT "grinding."

Hitting isn't grinding. Hitting means you don't have the puck or don't intend to have the puck. ROR and Okposo are both good at getting on top of players and forcing turnovers, or being hard to play against. They don't float.

D-lo is good at hitting and taking himself out of a play. I'd say that's not too hard to play against

I think in Kane, ROR and Okposo

you have players better suited for playoff games than regular season games

of course they need to get to the playoffs for that to happen

gionta's agent calls murray and says brian wants to sign a 1 year 2 miller dollar deal with the sabres the day after the expansion draft

do you

A. Take it
B. Tell him your going in a different direction next year
C. Tell him yes as long as he wears an A instead of a C on his jersey

I think the offseason will be boring too, especially when Tim Murray looks in his wallet and can't find multiple 1st's and 2nds or prospects to deal with.

bazinga

I think he'll be active because he has to be. If they're not in a wildcard spot by the end of next season he's done imo.

Betting on a guy going on 39 isnt what we should be doing.

Ron Hainsey, Ryan Murphy, Haydn Fleury, Roland McKeown, Trevor Carrick or Jake Bean.

Those are the D that are available.

Only one of Fleury, McKeown or Bean can be traded.

B

He's had a nice year and filled the role he was brought in for admirably. But it's time to move on and give some of our young forwards a chance. Take Moulson and/or Ennis with him if he can.

If they can clear even some of the dead weight, meaning Ennis and Moulson, then bringing back Gionta at $2M for one year hurts nothing, especially when he will be on the 4th line if he is not producing.

I know, Dan will play him more than he should, blah blah blah.
