He doesn't stink but he cant take over a game by himself either. Hes a nice complement to jack. That being said, they need to blow this sh!t up. I have a feeling he doesn't bring up bailey and baptiste because he doesn't want Rochester to be an even bigger tire fire. he traded too many assets too soon. we're close. o'reilly is a franchise guy. jack is elite. reinhart is a nice complement, as well as okposo. our 3rd and 4th lines fill out nice with 82, 28, and whomever else. our defense is a nightmare and that's 100% on murray. fix it, man. fix it.
- Khmylev

Leon Draisaitl has played 24 more games in the NHL than reinhart and has 6 more goals

I think when we look back 8 years from now at this draft, the better center (eichel/mcdavid) will be the reason why reinhart or draisaitl has the better nhl numbers

Honestly there are not a lot of players that can do this, just overpower others with their pure skill, those players are few and far between, but we do have one in Eichel.

Not everyone on the team can be a superstar.

151-146 in HBSL after day 1. Not bad for me considering I had a few empty spots last night and my opponent had every pick playing.

No, but usually the guys drafted at 2 are close.

Reinhart is good, but I have always seen an underwhelming aspect of his game, and he doesn't seem to have the overall skill Draisaitl has.

If we aren't a legitimate contender next year, a new set of eyes needs to be put on this team.

He will have had 4 drafts, 5 deadlines, 4 offseasons.

By years end next year if we aren't making it past round 1, he needs to go

- sbroads24

I like Murray and I like his willingness to pull the trigger. But, the fact is, he's here to build a winner and he has a lot more fails than successes in the moves he's made. I wouldn't lose any sleep if Pegula just cleaned house on the entire management.

I just don't see how you turn this d around in 1 year

I think guhle may be ok for second pair

I would like Fedun back for the 6th d man, and Falk back for 7th d man but

you still need at least a top 4 d man and IMO I still think you need a top pair d man

perfect case

player x, risto
mccabe, player y
guhle, fedun
falk

I just don't think we have the assets unless we

A. sign petersen, and move either petersen or ullmark in a trade
B. part ways with either reinhart or nylander
C. move 1 or 2 of our rw prospects and a slew of draft picks

9 times out of 10, free agency does not work and in this offseason murray will need to hit on 1 bigger fish, and 1 or 2 value guys to keep the pipeline in tact

the kane, lehner, ror, fasching trades leave him next to no wiggle room

definitely get what you are saying, I just think Reinhart's game is not a flash and dash one like a guy like Eichel has, so if hes not putting up points people think he is doing nothing, just think its a weird thing to key on when there are many other larger things wrong with this team.

but reinhart was drafted more as a play maker IMO

I always viewed him more like joe thornton (based on watching him at world jrs)and draisaitl as a jeff carter type player if they were left on the dot

funny thing is if you look at this

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl2014e.html

the outlier seems to be sam bennett

What did you expect from a guy that couldn't do a pull up?

this d

risto and mccabe, murray inherited

bogo, murraqy overpaid for
kulikov, murray acquired
gorges, murray acquired
franson, murray acquired

I could go on about our goalies, but IMO they are serviceable with a decent d

I could go on about moulson and ennis, but moulson is buried on the 4th line and ennis is a non factor most of the time on the ir

we are 3 years in with the murray rebuild and the biggest weakness on this team is due to players murray brought in

If Murray doesn't fire Bylduct at season's end he should fire himself.

He could fire him now and have Terry Murray be the interim coach. Or he could wait till the end of the season and see who else might be available. I think he chooses the latter.

You (IMO) contradict yourself here.

Adding in Guhle and Fedun full time = removal of Gorges and Franson. Even if Bogosian is slotted in somewhere, that means only 1 move is needed, and I think a "Top 4" kind of guy isn't too tough to get - and by Top 4 that means a 3/4 because 1/2 guys are extremely tough to acquire obviously.

The judgment on that 3/4 guy is a whole different ball of wax, but I think the team defense is in a better place with the 4 you name above, Bogosian (not better because of him, but in reality he's not going anywhere) plus an added 2nd pair guy.

In that scenario though, I guess McCabe would slide up with Ristolainen and the 3/4 guy to target is an extremely stay-at-home type guy.

I'm not a big Byslma basher - I went off that night that he "benched" Eichel and had him on the 4th line and no PP time, but being as ill-prepared and then to make it worse unable to adjust to the game last night....he needs to be gone.

Multiple days off to prepare/coach, this team is ALWAYS struggling with getting pucks out of the zone and passing - two things which are coachable IMO, and those things killed them last night.

At 5 on 5

Points per 60

Bennett 1.47
Reinhart 1.36
Draisaitl 1.92

I don't think Bennett is better right now by any stretch, but some of it is opportunity. He doesn't get the special teams minutes the other 2 get.

at 5 on 4 (PP) Points per 60

Draisaitl - 7.64 (141 minutes)
Reinhart 4.61 (156 minutes)
Bennett 2.36 (He's only played 76 PP minutes, waaay less than the other 2)

Fire him now and get that Florida coach they canned. Hockey press seemed to make a big deal out of him being good but just removed for a shakeup (5-5-2 January...not working out well for them, perhaps it wasn't the coach)

If it could be somehow guaranteed that the Radulov I watched last night would be the Radulov that would appear nightly each of the next few years, he would be a no brainer signing.

That said, I would be very scared to sign him to anything more than a 2 year deal.
