would you be fine with alex, pearson, carrier and foligno as your 4 lw's

you would have to protect three of them for expansion

- homiedclown

I figure you'd have to trade one of carrier/foligno to get him but yea why not. I dig Nylanders hands and speed next to eichel.

There's a lot of talk that he could be NHL ready as soon as next year

problem is you have 3 top 6 centers in reinhart, eichel and ror
if the kid is ready you have him and girgens for 3rd line

larsson, IMO is too slow for 4th line

No reason to rush him. Let him play another year in the SHL and then come on over.

I think Alex can be the real deal.
- Sabresfan-365

He's not looking so hot in the A.

Also disappeared in the 2 biggest WJC games.

Hopefully he turns it around

Before the season started, this board was pretty solidly behind wanting to up the trade value of Kane, Ennis and Girgenson, among other tradeable assets.

Now we seem to have a division on the two players who have succeeded in using their value in Kane and Girgs.
So, I do think we need to include them in the mix.

Seasoned D are always desirable for a playoff run, we as Sabre fans can attest to that strategy from the Carolina series many years ago.
Therefore I see Franson, Kuli and Gorges added to the mix.

Rounding out the mix are other FA's at seasons end, so we add in Fedun and Falk minimally...Larson if he were healthy.

That is quite a few tradeable assets...let's hope the league standings stay tight to keep more teams in the buyers market!

Trade all these guys if possible and acquire as much currency as possible to put together a package when teams are looking to extract some value from guys they can't protect in the expansion draft.
Maybe we get lucky then and can acquire 1 or 2 pieces!

I'll be honest I'm torn with this. When Evander ended up in the news I was calling for his head...now he's playing well and I'm worried we're trading out of an area of weakness instead of strength. We have tons of RW's right now and not enough LW. I'd be worried I'd hate both the return we got for him but also his success elsewhere in comparison.

Girgs is Girgs. If we can keep him as a 3/4C then fine, if we trade him for defensive help so be it.

Great point about Legwand. I have often thought the same this year, he would have been a valuable 4th line contributor, and a force on the penalty-kill too.

I think he's still playing third line with Catenacci who is having a pretty awful year. He needs to get stronger in order to dominate, but he's close to .5ppg on the third line, as a rookie, on a baddddd team. He played well in more WJC games than he didn't as a bright side. I get you about shying away during big games though...just don't want to go as far as say the leading scoring of the WJC's needs to "turn it around".

No. Asking price will be too high, and what has Duclair really done to have warranted this type of attention? He had a good junior tournament a while back, that's it.

You're kidding right? There's probably only 30,000 people watching this. And 18,000 are in the arena.

Did Kesler just blow them a kiss or tell them to (frank) off? Neither would surprise me.

He seemed to have good chemistry with Reinhart. Passed that he is a player who could potentially be had who is young and still has potential. He certainly did well the year prior putting up 40+pts.

I heard Justin Bieber was part of the skills competition and lost a lot of respect for the NHL. Shows they don't care about character, but money. Maybe Johnny Football can drop the puck.
