I agree that Hasek is the best Goalie.
I find it very difficult to put Orr ahead of Gretzky though....
Gretzky
Orr , Mario
Howe, Messier

I'm ignoring most of the pre-70's guys.
If I'm starting a team, I'm starting with Messier...then adding Bossy and Ovechkin.
I know I'm missing out on the other 4 on that list...but I would then take Park to offset the loss of Orr, and I'm not looking back.

Robinson. He was Orr-esque with a mean streak.

Potvin was great too but I give the edge to Robinson. Very close. I got Potvin on my 2nd team with Coffey.

I've heard old-timers say Harvey controlled games and could have been the best ever. Opinions.

The youngins today missed out on probably the greatest decade of hockey, the 70's. It wasn't all Star Wars, All in the Family and MASH but the Habs winning 4 straight cups, Bobby Orr's leap for the Bruins as they swept the Blues, the French Connection, expansion. The number of hall of famers from that decade is astounding.

If I'm starting a team, my top pair is Orr/Lidtsrom.

Second pair is Shmelik/Weber.

I can't argue against this, Robinson was dominant in many ways...O, D, toughness.
Potvin had a mean streak as well.
How about the big friggin goof in Boston named Chara...kinda the same as Robinson.

Point is, can't go wrong with any of theses guys.

I think you forgot Bogo in there somewhere.

I agree with Orr, assuming it is just selecting your team...but if it I should a draft, chances are a Orr is gone 1 or 2....hence why my logic of selecting Park assumes Orr is gone.
That said, he'll there are probably 7+ pairings that would be awesome

I think it comes down who are your all time favorites in putting together an all time team. Bobby Orr and Perreault are still my top 2 faves of all time. As a kid playing local amateur hockey in the 70's and honing my own game (thanks dad), I was mesmerized by how these two played the game.

If they kept those analytics back then, Perreault and Orr's numbers would be off the charts.

I believe the guy that put the list together was on with Schopp and the Bulldog earlier this week. He said if you want to add anyone to the list, then you have to make a case for which player that is on the list they would replace.

Paul Coffey has to be the 2nd best D man of all time. His Prime playing days were a little before me really be getting into watching Hockey, but Holy S, his stats would be outstanding for a Forward. 5-100 + point seasons!

coffey wasnt always good defensively. fuhr won a vezina in 88 with a .881 save percentage. coffey was a great skater, a great offensive force from d, but loses points for his defense.

and jebus, 48 goals in one season on d.
