I would give it to Potvin over Patty and Potvin would not be my top choice either. I agree on Patty. Isles do not need anymore drama and need someone stable in that position. It does not have to be an ex-Isles person.

Potvin would be an interesting choice. I have listened to his color commentary while watching Panthers' telecasts. He seems smart, articulate and ......... ultimately an Islander fan. It came through when he was calling a game from Brooklyn, and the Isles' announcer paid tribute to him in the booth. He was clearly touched when the fans gave him a big ovation.

If it has to be someone with Isles ties, I'm going Potvin or Jimmy D. Patty would be a mistake. I'd rather get someone proven like Tallon though. I really want someone with a good track record in management.

Jimmy D.?? How old is he? 75? What's his role in Detroit? Why would he want to leave?

74 smarty pants.

I do not need him to run a marathon.

According to Wiki, currently serves as the senior vice-president & alternate governor of the Detroit Red Wings National Hockey League (NHL) team and vice-president of the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball (MLB) team.

He's been in Detroit long enough. Time for him to come home.

I think you're dreaming. I don't see him leaving Detroit after all these years just to take a similar job with the Isles.................not unless the Yankees or Mets step up to match that Tigers' job.

I'm sure he still loves the Isles and what a story the man who built the dynasty team coming back to built up his old team. You have no romance John.

EK has Duclair for Strome. I'm trying to figure out did he also mention Bishop with the Isles? UR would be very happy.
- ses111

He did mention Bishop to the Isles. Along with every other team in the league, as usual.
Duclair is in Tucson right now. 4 games, 1g, 1a, -3. Couldn't make the game last night (damn work), but going tonight. Taking the wife. Also taking my 5-yr old granddaughter to her first game.
I'm interested to see how Duke is playing. It seems he's lacking confidence and it's showing down here. He should be lighting it up. The Coyotes just sent Fischer back down (leading scorer), so maybe if they pair Duke with Fisch it might get him going. I know Perlini was having a good season before being called up. Then when the Coyotes had their bye week they sent him back down for a game. Man the kid looked like a beast in that game. First career hat trick, and first in team history. He looked like a man amongst boys. Hoping that Duke snaps out of it and gets the goal train going again. I'll report what I see after the game.
Long way to go to say I'd pull the trigger on that deal.

It's not romance, it's reality. Jimmy D would have no reason to come back here. Especially at his age and with the cush jobs he has. If he came back here, he'd have to bust his ass.

I have to agree hockeyman. I do not see it happening. Someone with his track record would be great, but very hard to find.

Not that I want Bishop, but can they even fit him under the Cap?

I have not seen Duclair play so I cannot make a call on the trade. Rather Isles keep what they have unless they get a proven wing. Enjoy the game hockeyman.
