You would need to add the indispensable experience of being a ski-bum, bouncer and river guide before you can aspire to that honorable position.

No kidding.

Mittelstadt should hopefully be right around our pick. I'm very torn on him however.

"An electric offensive presence on the ice, Casey Mittelstadt brings the complete package of speed, skill, and hockey sense. He competes hard with every shift, and has the dynamic puck skills to keep up with his creativity, which is a hallmark of his game...."

http://www.eliteprospects.../player.php?player=300831

On one hand, he sounds like everything we need, but on the other, it's hard to get a read on the kid as the vast majority of his experience was accumulated in the U.S high school league

I kindof get a P.L.D vibe from him, where nobody really knows what he's got yet jumps up the rankings anyways...

I was high on PLD but still am so there is that.... but you can also look at what Mittelstadt did in the USDP, USHL this year and WJC tournement to see how he compares to his peers.

I think he is going to be a very good player.

All in all I feel the same way, yet hard to decipher where he will go.
Top 5?

Edit: i also see that he's committed to the College route
No hope of injecting him into next years line-up, for better or worse.

Right now I think so...never know what will happen in the next few months.

Lots of C's to choose from in the top 10 this year, I hope we get a good one.

It's really too bad we didn't take Eilers and Pastrnak. We'd be in a much better spot.

I'll give you Ehlers but not Pastrnak...he had more than a few red flags and many teams passed. Virtanen was definitely the wrong choice.

Why has no one mentioned that Willie pulled the goalie last night and selected Chaput as his extra attacker? He has 3 career goals

I take a look at the Canucks' position compared to last year at the All-Star break, and I've got Bo's events for this weekend's Skills Competition, in the new blog:

Oh, people were freaking out about that earlier.
Larsen + Chaput = the apocalypse.
