Although it was a pretty mind-boggling decision to play Larsen over a player in the lineup who has been in for this streak of decent play, I can't blame WD for the piss-poor effort.
Why Larsen even gets NHL ice is beyond me. So if Willie did get his assessment canned ...oh well.

Whats the point in firing WD ?

I don't really care if it is Larsen or Beiga playing but I can't fault the Canucks mgmt for giving Larsen more of a shot. I don't think there is much there but they might as well give the guy they have invested in more of an opportunity.

Willie's main criteria to playing a player is if he's seen him before.... he was an assistant in Dallas when Larsen first came up.

Hes floating to the far post! Hold the angle on the nearside post to force a tough angle shot or the pass is like Bantam hockey 101, taking away the pass so you end up giving a clear shot on net means you missed your chance to attack. Tryamkin gets the closest to breaking up the play and he started from center ice

You would need to add the indispensable experience of being a ski-bum, bouncer and river guide before you can aspire to that honorable position.

Yeah...I think that's the range we land in....maybe pull a Winnipeg and move up three spots with a lucky lotto roll. I'm OK with bpa in our spot...wing center dman matters not we need all.

BPA will probably in that range will probably work good for us. There are 5 or 6 centres going in the top 10... I wouldn't mind one of them over a D or RW. Mittelstadt at 5 or 6 would be fantastic.

On one hand, he sounds like everything we need, but on the other, it's hard to get a read on the kid as the vast majority of his experience was accumulated in the U.S high school league

I kindof get a P.L.D vibe from him, where nobody really knows what he's got yet jumps up the rankings anyways...
