Just checking Virtanen's progress in Utica, five goals in 30 games, nice! Meanwhile Ehlers is 15th in NHL scoring
Thanks Francesco! - LeftCoaster

When it's all said and done after 82 games, I still predict a top ten pick for the Canucks. - LeftCoaster
I think the Canucks will pick between 6-10 and get a great young center prospect |

Yeah, after some long searching, I believe that Brisebois plays with Meloche. |

Yeah...I think that's the range we land in....maybe pull a Winnipeg and move up three spots with a lucky lotto roll. I'm OK with bpa in our spot...wing center dman matters not we need all. |

Pretty much, ideally we can land a center.
Patrick.
Vilardi
Hischier
Mittelstadt
Rasmussen (listed as a center?)
That's 5 in the top 10?
Odds are pretty good. |

It's lost opportunities period. I don't think we have the ability to solidify a PO spot with this current lineup. every time have a chance to get up points on the WC spot we fail.
4 wins in Feb. - LordHumungous
They have 10 games. Many against good teams. All depends how each is trending at the time. Like when they started their last win streak it was agaisnt Kings, Ducks and Oil. Everyone had Nucks pegged for losses then. So who knows. You might be right. We can only take it one game at a time. |

Doesn't mean they will be the bpa. Don't have to look any farther then virtanen / Ehlers. If JB things a guy like Callan Foote will be the best nhl player in our draft spot then I hope he takes him. Vantel is right defence is the best place to have an abundance of talent. You can always trade d for skilled forwards |

Or you can just draft them, but sure, that's a reasonable approach.
Personally, I'd be a tad disappointed if we took Foote with a top 10 pick.

Like JV ? Supposed to be a skill guy. Lots of skill guys will never even make it out of the AHL . I atleast want our first rounders to pan out and play for us . Be it as a 3/4 liner or 3rd pairing d man. No misses in the first round. This team can't absorb that |

I agree about not missing but what is your point?
That we don't draft skilled forwards in the first round?

The point was take the best possible player...regardless of position played or where said player is ranked by the hockey news |

If we could get a top line centre out of this draft I think the Canucks would be setup pretty nicely longterm. They always say you want to build your team through the middle and with potential Bo and this years top pick along with our young D-core and our already solid goaltending I think we'll be good for years to come
