There was so much interest in this game. People kept posting lol.

Nobody liked how Tree played? Or the JB's retooled youth?

Well at least the PP scored. Darn there is nothing more to say. Just all thank WD he got the win despite the come back Avs. Nice one

They're doing OK. I stay up at night, stoke the fire. Go out and get supplies during the day. They're all kind of lost without TV/internet bu that's a good thing

Well, that's 25 goals that the Flames have gifted us this season so far... as we pass them in the standings.

I have a very early start for work today so I will post now.

The game was painful to watch.

The twins line are dreadful . Next year can't come soon enough but it is just a fact of age. They really do give up as much as they create.

I thought BO's line had a decent night . I think it will have more to give once Hansen returns.

Sutter's line keeps chugging along some nights good some nights less , but most nights they crate some chances.

The fourth line seems to always take care of business. No high energy with big hits but rather controlled time management in the other end that creates some chances.

I thought Biega had a rough night and dragged down Tryamkin a bit.

Other than that they got their two points.

Hah! I did, obviously Horvat for Domi is crazy.

I cant wait to see Bo at the All star game, he's not really a show off so maybe he'll show something new (I want to see him in the skating speed competition).

They should really be the Nux second or third line at this point... i doubt they'll ever ask mgm't to trade them at the deadline...

I look at the playoff race for the West and there is not one team that I could not see beating other than Chicago, and even then .

With the easy part of the schedule almost complete, I will not be thinking of any type of playoffs for this team.
It looks like maybe 10-12 wins in last 33 games, pretty tough schedule.
Won't surprise me if they hang around in the mix though as Willie has them playing as a team with a not bad system for the calibre of this team.

Its realistic not to think of them as a playoff team. We are a bubble team most of us thought that before the season even started. I believe the argument at the time was are we a 27th-30th team or a 18th to 16th team.

Side note last nights game was pretty boring.

I hear you. As for their play that's there style of play which is working for WD. Maybe with certain other players that he could do something different. But wheather by choice or circumstance this is what he likes to work with. A few games it opens up out of necessity. Or the competition forces more up tempo play.

The bubble was a point of contention. A lot of people bought into the projections of worst team in the league. Or maybe there was a hope of team trades to be in a tank position.

Well after and during the long 9 game losing streak that point of worst team was driven home. Even the bubble guys were giving up. We blamed on the players, the coaching, depth and so on.

But in the end they are what they are a team capable of being competitive. Keep it close and find a way to win. It's not a thrilling formula but it is something. Bubble is on a high now. Challenges ahead.

The team will be boring for at least a few more years. We have no Marner, Matthews, Mcdavid, Draisatl, Laine, Sheiffle etc. in our prospect pool. We need to draft a truck load of highly skilled forwards over the next two drafts and hope we luck out in the mid rounds.

Just like your criticism of the whiners from that trade, your puffed chest "look how smart I am" attitude is worse. It's a little early to write Shinkaruk off as a bust, he's near a ppg in the AHL, which is something our other 1st round pick, who's currently playing in the AHL as well, can't boast about...

Why laugh? You just posted "The team will be boring for at least a few more years. We have no Marner, Matthews, Mcdavid, Draisatl, Laine, Sheiffle etc. in our prospect pool. We need to draft a truck load of highly skilled forwards over the next two drafts and hope we luck out in the mid rounds."

Is Granlund a good fit on the team? Sure, he's getting the job done, is versatile etc. Do you think he is "highly skilled"? Taking a chance on players like Sinkaruk is what you just said the team needs to do, they just need more of them, many many more in order to get lucky with a few.

I am not laughing at you. Good on you to come out when the Shink topic comes up. I didn't mind the trade at the time because I never thought that Shink would make the NHL. Granlund is decent but not worth gloating over. He is no Bae. I think we will see a very different approach from Benning now that we have a few young guys on our 2nd/3rd lines.

Totally, but some want to draft a Dman. I don't understand that thought process. Our team has to focus on getting back to an entertaining product.

I'm spoiled because of the West Coast Express days or the twins at their best or maybe even Bure era, but for me that is what made pro hockey worth watching.

Sure defensive play is great to watch during the playoffs but if it's all you get in the regular season then it gets a bit boring.

I was disappointed to see Shink traded away. We draft young players, try to follow their progress before Utica and in the AHL. Hope to see them develop and succeed.

But, it has worked out fine for our club. I give JB some credit for identifying players on other clubs that aren't getting the opportunity or enough rope in their situation while he thinks they might be a good fit here and pulls the trigger.

Guessing he thought Granlund could make a bigger impact or be an everyday player sooner than Shink.

Kudos to JB, the trade has worked out for us.

(have to get a coffee going before playing roshambo)

For me, it was the fact JB was trading prospects. Not the prospect himself. We've seen this before and it got some in here thinking "here we go again" including me.

It's definately a risk trading prospects.

We also have a young D core and an old forward core.
