You do what you have to do to win in Pittsburgh. It would be foolish to go into that building against your team and play wide open hockey. He should be congratulated on putting a good system in place to get the 2 points. Sour grapes thread |

not to mention your power play sucked HARD - Gerk
Yes it did. No legs whatsoever either. Hard to compete when the whole team would rather be taking a nap. |

Not true actually. RW will always comment on the style of play if its against a team that usually plays a defensive style. He'll whip out that Bad-Good/Boring-Fun graph he likes a lot win or lose. - Victoro311
thanks
I probably should've said that the blog probably would've been less whiny and more smug that the "exciting" brand of hockey rules had the Pens won. |

Personally I loved Hitches time in Philly and thought he got the raw end of the deal on an under performing team, He is smart, dedicated and a darn good coach but of course we Philly fans don't know jack. |

Sorry but if Reaves and Upshall score in the same game the hockey gods do not want you to win. |

Very boring game. However, Pens couldn't make a pass to save their lives. Definitely an off game. |

What was boring? I was entertained.......
If you need back and forth, no defense games where 8+ goals are scored..........then that might be a you issue.
Last time I checked, playoff hockey is very exciting. And playoff hockey is so much more like Hitch hockey than scoring goals every 5 minutes. |

I can almost guarantee you that, as a Flyers' fan, I have been in the presence of and touched that trophy more recently that 95% of the Penguins fan base. So yes, I am very familiar with it. |

Wow, talk about salty. Ek lets the village idiot, James Tanner, blog for a second team; and now we have other bloggers trying to imitate his idiocy.
Ken Hitchcock was the original person to call Sidney Crosby a whiner.
No, literally everyone who wasn't a Pens fan after watching even a single game of Crysby early in his career called him that prior to Hitch doing so. Not to mention some of his own teammates. |

Right? Cause the last 3 Stanley cup winners put up over 3 goals per game... And the year before Boston was at 2.95... There's this weird myth that teams don't score as much in the playoffs. |

We have to grasp on to the few games where we don't totally implode. Was nice to watch a game where Blues starting goalie stayed in net all game. Been a while since that last happened it seems. |

Hahah oh all the credit to the Blues, I wasn't hating on that. It was the weird assumption that playoff hockey has less scoring, which I don't think it does, if I recall the numbers correctly. |

If he's so good at "playoff hockey" why has his teams largely struggled in the playoffs? Until last year, his last appearance in a conference final was in 03-04. |

Does that make you more of a fan than someone that is new to watching hockey?
Crosby, Ovechkin, and now Mcdavid/Matthews have pulled in a ton of young fans to the game. Without guys like them the fanbase stagnates with just a bunch of crotchety middle aged men getting into a pissing match on HB about whose team is better and who has touched a trophy more.
Pens sucked last night. Good job Blues, they were the better team. |
