SimpleJack sipping the Hawks kool aid. There's a shocker.

He reminds me of the guy in uniform in Animal House at the parade telling everyone everything is ok. Was that Kevin Bacon?

That's a classic comedy I've only seen scattered parts of, never all the way through. One of these days I'll watch it. I've heard good things.

Not a very good comedy at that.

I get the infatuation with John Belushi, but I personally have perceived Animal House as an overrated comedy.

Upcoming road trip...

I expect something between zip and 4 points.

SJ, Min, Jets and Oil will beat them easily...perhaps a couple embarrassing loses in there as well.

Hope I'm mistaken...

[quote=SimpleJack]I know it's frustrating but we aren't a pretender and only a fool would quit.

You are right Simple Jack , I am not a pretender but I am also not foolish enough to think the Hawks have a decent chance of winning the Cup. This Hawks team has a lot of holes to fix before they could reach the promise land again. A quick fix by brining a LW veteran loaner at the T/D woen't get it done.

The only way IMO the Hawks can get back to becoming a serious contender ( two to three years) for the cup is by trading two to three of your core players for a couple of high draft picks or high potential prospects currently in a teams system. Holding on to Keith, Seabrook, Crawford for another year will get you even more diminishing returns and cap hell will only get worse. Loyalty to your core veteran players that are starting to diminish in their skills are going to be dangerous to the health of a team sooner than later. The Detroit organization can tell tell you first hand.

Frustrating loss to say the least . Some teams playing desperate hockey right now ,HAWKS maybe not so much . Can't take your foot off the pedal for a minute ,or 30 seconds . Maybe the boy's started looking ahead late in the game to the little holiday coming up for some . Still have a ton of confidence in this team ,and think deal or no deal before the TDL they can make a run in the west .. GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Said Duncan Keith, "I mean obviously I thought we had good control of the game and they were getting some chances but I thought we were playing well and it was just two sets of two quick goals and totally changed the game."

yeah..."JUST two sets of two quick goals"....

the hawks defensively have been complete horsepoop the last 8 games despite a some wins and needed a mammoth effort from darling and a late goal by hossa to beat the bruins 1-0....

What about CRAWFORD trade to start a rebuild? We hear that there are always goalies on the market, why not just try to start with a new one (maybe not better, but less cap hit)?

Team trainwreck did it again last night and made the Jets look like world beaters.
Frankin' pathetic. The Hawks hadn't lost a game when leading after two in three years and now two in a week.

I think Bogie listed out the last 8 games or so and its not pretty.

Panik with that early goalie interference - which I thought was ridiculous and in 12 seconds its in the back of the Hawks net. Sure it was a wash both teams 1-4 on the PP.

Panarin (one assist in his last 6) and a -3 last night - hasn't done jack since signing his deal and how bout that deflection into his own net by Soupy last night...brutal.
Defense looks pretty taxed right now.

Long roadie coming up...yikes.

As it is right now this team is not a legit contender despite their record. To me they are two forwards and still a top 4 defenceman away. There is no way they will be able to obtain those type of players. Will need to think about being the team that sells off players at the deadline and try and reload. Let's not throw away any more young players. I know hindsight is 20/20 but Hayes (I know he chose no to sign here bUT we should have tried to make it work ) Daineault. TT would look better then Dejarne Krug and Tootoo.

Also why pull goalie with so much time left ,way to early. Don't want to beat up on Krug but I don't see all that much improvement in penalty kill. Also two goals in over 80 games I'm sorry that's just not luxury we can have at 3 million a year. I just see alot of problems right now and I know their philosophy is go for it every year but I think there needs to be some serious debate on that this year.

It was a great movie back in the day. Like most comedies it would seem a little stupid today. But it hits home a bit for me. There is a red corvette in the movie that was the same year and color of the one I had when I was their age. Plus Harold Ramis had a lot to do with writing the movie and I found out that he lived in the apartment across from the frat house my son was eventually in at SIU. And I have no doubt that he got some inspiration from those clowns.

As far as giving you a shot it's in fun. Perspective is a good thing. Certainly you are on one end of it but it's all good.
