Don't get how Hawks give up so many 2 goal outbursts in under a minute
Against
Vancouver
Tampa Bay
And tonight "Twice"
This is new!

Also don't get pulling the goalie with 255 left in the game.

Won't miss TVR and Kruger "never touch the puck Kruger" anytime soon.

two teams struggling at the back end of their divisions come in here and lay 5 on hawks with 6 goals in the 3rd period...hawks coughing leads and non on the pp...

THIS TEAM IS JUST A (frank)N PRETENDER

This club is doing zip this year.

Do not trade assets for a rental...approach the deadline strategically.

Overreaction.

Still plenty of time, still in good position in the standings.

We MUST continue to view this season with a "win now while the window is still open" mentality, and go all in when trying to assemble the playoff roster.

Understatement of the year. And a tough six game roadie coming up to boot. This team is at the crossroads. It's time to retool for the seasons ahead.

I've think we've all seen enough.

2, 4 and 7 need to be stapled to the bench. Pathetic.
- 11Chaser11

Exactly........ here's our fantastic CORE defensmen that make mistake after mistake, give away after giveaway, back in repeatedly towards our goaltenders, never stand up at the blue line, and we're looking for a 1LW ????? This defense gives up more PRIME scoring chances than anybody. After Winnepeg ties the game at 3-3, Keith and Hjalmarsson immediately give up a 2 on 1 that Darling thankfully stopped. As for Quenneville ??????? Pulling the goalie with almost 3 minutes left in the period in just plain stupid. What the heck is he thinking down by 1 ?
Maybe Duncan Keith should skip the All Star game because he needs to get his body in shape........maybe his mind as well. NO COMPETE KEITH !!

I know it's frustrating but we aren't a pretender and only a fool would quit on their team this early(not even February) when it's a team like our Hawks.

Never give up, never surrender!!!

luv stats and trends...when they bust it happens with style

78-0-5 with leads heading into the 3rd...now they have blown 2 in a row @ home vs middling teams...this nhl game is tough to figure...

the giving up of quick BTB goals has been big problem of late...

Perhaps you're right...

...I just disagree and believe the window is closed for this campaign. I hope to see SB take advantage of clubs hoping to improve their rosters for the stretch run.

As Randolph Duke once said, "get back in there at once and sell, sell!"

Speak for yourself and the other ledge jumpers. It's late January and you're quitting on this team? Smh

Sometimes that is the way the cookie crumbles. Sometimes you give up bad goals at bad times. Early in the year the Hawks got some breaks. Lately they have been having the opposite. Remember, this is January. The team can have a few meltdowns now. Game is done, time for them to move on.

Just on this mediocre mess of a year...

This season has value...it's giving the young guys plenty of minutes to develop and it's shown the front office what needs to be done.

Now don't F around by throwing away picks and prospects bringing in Vanek and some stiff depth defender. Waste of time and assets.

It might help some of the Dmen if some of the forwards got into the shooting lane and blocked a couple of shots instead of letting point men fire away uncontested from the point.

And where has Panarin gone on vacation to? Just brutal tonight.

the last 8 games shall we:

Needed an OT win vs a nothing wing team @ home team that was at the end of a long road trip; giving up 3 in the 2nd to blow a lead

caps humiliated them 6-0...lets continue

blow 2-0 lead vs the wild and lose on a late 3rd period 3-2

needed rookie heroics from hinostra and co to beat a dog ass bad aves team 6-4

played a lazy ass game vs a nothing nucks team and eaked out a 4-2 win

played a very good game to beat the bruins 1-0

and pss away 2 games with 3rd period collapses at home vs .500 team allowing 6 3rd period goals

so this team give a complete winning give a poop effort about every 4th game...

yeah they are PRENTENDERS...right now

Splitting the season so far in half for goals against, 5x5:

First 26 games - 32 GA - 1.28 / game - .949 SV% - at the top of the league
Last 25 games - 52 GA (over 2 per game) - .920 SV% - 25th in the league

The save percentage the last 25 games is 12th in the league - not bad - but the shots against (26.1) is 28th in the league.

thats the critical stat with this team...the shots against and quality chances...they need super goal tending to compensate for SOG's and high quality they cough up...
