He held the post, which is about all he can do in that situation. When the puck is behind the net like that you just cover the bottom and hope for the best. That one wasn't on him.

He should've had the first one, but it was a hell of a shot. It was more on all the other players on the ice who all (frank)ed up before it got to Lehner.

It's not like it was like this:

I'm still convinced Hasek let that in on purpose. He was traded soon after that. And knew he was gone, he wanted out after all.

Franson again gets his shot through and results in a goal.

Yeah, I hated that goal. I thought the same thing.

Franson is having a very Fransonesuqe game. Solid offensively miserable in his own end. We should trade him soon before this offensive burst inevitably cools off.

Nice rebound by Eichel. He didn't dominate and take over that play but he at least didn't hesitate when shooting. #babysteps. Great play by Reinhart earlier in that shift to keep the puck with the Sabres even when he was falling down.

That was Jack's worst period of his NHL career in the 1st

I mean, he's got 44 shots in his last 10 games. That's a lot of shots. That average would've put him 2nd in the league last year over 81 games. 3 more than Brent Burns, and 42 less than Ovechkin.

Loved him then hated him but after watching a recent Hasek story on NHL he really had gone as far as he could with Buffalo, we simply refused to understand how good he was and if we could've just added a top line sniper for future 1st rounders we should have done whatever needed to be done. But we didn't. I hated that goal as well. I have NO respect for Doug Gilmore! Dude was a douche!

He hasn't been shooting on the powerplay is what I'm talking about. When he's given chances to fire the puck in Grade A opportunities he needs to not hesitate. One thing I admire about Kane is the guy doesn't hesitate. Now his aim is awful but Eichel's aim is very, very good so it should be even more reason to shoot on those occasions.

Pretty much everything you didn't want to happen, happened around the league tonight. Sabres got to win just to keep pace.

Its not really about that in my opinion. I want this team to grow, gain an identity led by the right guys each in their own way, and that's what I've been seeing and I like it. I'm not sure on Foligno up with Jack & Sam, dude is a beast at protecting the puck or digging along the boards but he's not equipped to play at their level, not a knock, I love the kid, he is what a Buffalo Sabre from Father to Son!

Why does Nashville have a team?

Not sure what you're getting at. Preds fans are more engaged and vocal than Sabres fans.

Hasak is my favorite Sabre ever. Definitely did not like the ending to his time here as well.

Always respected what he did with the Hasak heroes program, and I am glad that last year the organization and he seemed to have restored the relationship. When his number is raised, I will be there.

I was sitting right behind Hasek for that game. No bigger dirtbag could've scored. Refs put their whistles away. Remember Gratton and probably Kasparitis punching each other in the face with gloves on as play went the other way.
