it's hard to believe how poor was calgary defense in that game. they lost almost all the battles on the board and wideman is a turnover machine. almost every shot we had was a scoring chance and they made andrighetto look like an offensive threat.

the new strategy to enter the zone on the power play is working well (it seems like weber and beaulieu skate first and in the neutral zone they make a drop pass to one of the three forwards that are at full speed behind them).

only thing i was disappointed about is byron's play. lately he is not taking good decisions with the puck and he ruined a lot of odd man rushes. still has twice as much points as lars eller though. and maybe also when barberio and redmond are stuck behind our net and they just chip the puck to one another until an opponent takes it.

CGY was tired. They're in a slump, played yesterday, got to Mtl at 3AM...
If they find themselves a goalie they'll be much better.

pretty decent dcore, not tonight though.
Giordano, Brodie, Hamilton, Wideman as a top 4 is better than average.

The best PP teams like Washington and Pittsburgh have been doing that for a long while now. Only took a couple of years for the Habs to think to try it.

Habs are actually pretty good on the PP when they are setup, even including last year horrible PP. But for a long while they couldn't enter the zone while keeping the puck to save their lives. When they struggle on the PP for a stretch of games it's always that problem that come back. Hopefully those kind of new strategies help them in this aspect.

the habs with sheldon souray were great on the PP, with mark streit they were great on the PP... they've had the ability with a healthy Markov to have a great PP... he was always a key guy for them.

i'm glad montreal spanked the flames they way they deserved to be spanked.
