IIRC, Leddy had one more year on his ELC when he was traded for Garth Snow's table scraps.....
- EnzoD

I agree they didn't get much as Stan's hands were tied and he ending up getting just prospects or scratchoffs as mentioned, but they traded him instead of Oduya and won a cup so I'm sure we were all happy with that decision. Leddy would have been pushed around like a rag doll and picking up his stick constantly off the ice, playing 8 minutes a night in that Anaheim series including the 3OT game. Then get his payday which they wouldn't have been able to afford anyway. He'd be nice to have but he's another cap casualty.

Q's problem is playing TVR on his offside. When he doesn't TVR is a pretty decent third pairing dman.

I agree.
But reality says it was because Stan waited far too long and got his nuts in a vise.
After Mr. Bettman's cap began to squeeze them, he had little choice.
You know, Stan shouldn't play those scratch-off games.
I hear they don't give out as many prizes as they claim.

- savvyone-1

He thought he needed his depth to win the cup that year, and would rather have a cup and lose him for nothing than not have a cup.

Maybe he could've traded him at the draft, but

In the end, Q planted his ass to the bench, and proving Stan wrong.

But those two Cups were under a slightly different financial model with 19 and 88 making $6.3m each versus the $10.5m each now. $8.4m of less cap space, even under a slightly higher cap, is having an impact. If Stan could go back and change those numbers, he would. But I don't think either are getting shipped out ever.

Honestly, it's hard to think about any of the core leaving; and that includes AA, Panarin, and Kruger. It's especially hard to think about it mid-season because of the ripple effect it would have in the locker room. A week ago, I could see the possibility the Blackhawks become sellers at the deadline but winning a few games again and the Captain showing signs of life has me thinking they'll be buyers again and see what happens. The team needs a player or two or three or four. Get it done Stan!

- matt_ahrens

If Bowman had a crystal ball he may have done things differently but you have to play the cards on the table at the time. He won 2 Cups after he dumped half the players from the 1st win, so mission accomplished.

When players are dumped at the deadline here the bloom will be so far off the rose it won't resemble a flower any longer. Until then it's 400 straight UC sellouts and counting....

Not sure how much this enters the equation but it has to at least be a consideration, we can't protect TVR at the expansion draft. What's the likelihood that Vegas would grab him? If you think it's high, do you trade him now and at least get something back? Or do you role the dice and hope they won't be interested in him?
- walleyeb1

When you are a cap ceiling team hoping to make a Cup run you don't trade a player
now so he won't be lost through the expansion draft.

She's not the only one.
I have to turn the volume down to ZERO -- and sometimes even then I can't stomach that pompous clown's gesturing.

Hey Corn-hole: when are you gonna wake up and realize that the national anthem AIN'T ABOUT YOU??????????????????????????

Can't stand the guy.
Bring back Wayne Messmer.

Is Cornileson really pompous? I've always felt Messmer to be more so (even a tad bit douchey) and Cornelison to be more humble. Just my impression so I could be wrong.

That's my issue as well. I don't mind TVR playing everyday and can be a sound defender if he keeps things simple. However, he does have his limits and has to get the most out of his limited talent, so why put him in an odd situation playing him on his offside?

They need some new tunes at the UC. Chelsea dagger has worn out it's welcome. Their power play and pk songs stink. Didn't they used to play "must be some misunderstanding" by phil collins when penalized? Or am i imagining that

I'm ok with Chelsea Dagger, but agree about the rest.

Edit: I go to games in Nashville, and their goal song is horrible!

My wife's a singer with a fairly impressive credit or two on her resume. On a strictly professional basis, she can't stand the guy.
They could use a totally new approach there musically. Upstairs as well.

Leddy's ELC ended in 2013. He had one more year on his $2.7m a year bridge deal when he was moved.

The return was poop, though at the time many were high on Pokka, but ultimately it was the cap space they needed so they could retain Oduya and it got them a cup. They wouldn't have been able to afford Leddy the next year either.

Hey Savvy hope you're well...you mean the Stan bowman offseason trade plan...ah we know it well. See Sharp, Patrick.

Interested to see what they're going to do here hopefully before the deadline. Several interesting names out there...Sharpie, Landeskog, Tatar, Vanek, Nyquist...
I would also hope they move sooner than later. I doubt the Hawks trade their first with hosting the draft this year.

I'm with Savvy on this one. He used to troll for chicks with his ring before the game in the UC and bring them to the penalty box while he was on the ice singing. Different one every game, except when his son was with him.

If all the talk about shulonov coming over after his season in the KHL,then that should be the lw that we need. But this talk about another d needed is mind blowing since we have Forsling down in Rockford.

I am not a musician but play one on TV (in reality, although not my day job, I have and continue to make $ as a musician). I've had the opportunity to work professionally with Mr. Messmer. Helluva nice guy, not pompous at all -- and re the professional singer part, worlds apart from Mr. Corn-hole.

None of the grandstanding or making EVERYONE bend to his own musical whims (as Mr. Corn-hole is wont to do). I am personally sick of having that jag-bag slow down our national anthem to the point of hoping he gets removed and soon from this gig.

We definitely need a new guy (or the old guy, Mr. Messmer) and new approach. One that doesn't spit in the eye of tradition nor bend its note and tempo to hisown personal whim.

A side-side note: I support a similar singer on many a Sunday and absolutely DESPISE what she does with any and every song she does. The other musicians in our ensemble have talked about leaving it to the piano player and her voice and simply dropping out any other instrumental support. Tempo? Timing? Just like with Jim Corn-hole, there is NONE. Every song, every tempo is butchered beyond anything resembling music and it is all about the operatic utterances coming from these "it's all about me" singers.

Yuck.
Tell your wife she is not alone in her despisement (is that a word?) of Corn-hole.

Forsling isn't ready for regular NHL time, much less playoffs. Ton of potential, just really green and young.
