I'm not sure winning the cup should necessarily be sole the deciding factor as to whether a deadline trade was good or not (a lengthly playoff run perhaps)
It's worth mentioning the:
- The 08 pens made the SCF thanks in part to Hossa
- The 14 rags also made the SCF
- The 15 rags made a run to the ECF
- For what its worth, 13 pens also made it to ECF

Oh, absolutely, and I'm not saying it's a bad move. But most of the time, these TDL deals are made for 2/3-month rentals, and the assets you give up to acquire one usually affect you well past the season. So it's a long-term loss for a short-term gain. The problem that I see is that teams usually go for the "name" as opposed to the "need." But really, if you're giving up top prospects/high picks for a player who is a rental, it's not worth it if you don't win the Cup, to me.

Subban is not top 5 except on the overrated list.

Great, he'll fit right in and I dont mean that as insult to the Pens D but he's exactly what will thrive in their system. Instead of putting himself out of position with checks he'll be using a smart stick and getting pucks to forwards swiftly and precise. He really would be a lovely piece to acquire.

Doubt MAF gets us Shatts, & I hope the extras the Blues will want we won't give them for any deal. I believe there could be something there only what are the Blues going to do with Alle? We don't want him in return, but we do need a tender to put up for expansion so........

We need a trade (that's if JR doesn't make a pre draft deal with Vegas about not taking Murray), that brings back a back up if Flower is leaving. Even if we go to the flames & ask for Johnson in return (not sure of his contract - HB research ), & a 2nd/3rd.

I'm not sure JR even wants to trade Flower at all at this stage - then the question is how can we keep that amount of $ on cap in net?? Does Flower now accept being #2?
