I'd give Tkachuk 10 games. That was stupid, dangerous, and 100% unnecessary. Sadly, Shaw did the same thing, only much worse, with a record, and got nothing, so I'm sure Tkachuk will receive a stern talking to.

the leafs are 9th in the league when it comes to fewest goals against

they are 12th in goal differential

this is great for such a young team... maybe just stay the course and let these young guys develop together? they are young enough that they will only improve. there is no need to pull the trigger on a big deal right now unless its heavily in the leafs favor.

But the depth is the issue. We simply do not have quality 5-7 dmen...that needs to improve as soon as it can.
A true 4th dman is also needed. Carrick isnt a top 4 guy....he's a quality 5-6 guy. Get a dman for the 4th spot, push Carrick down to the 5th and get or bring up a quality 6th dman.
