What Zads has been doing over the past 15 games or so is very very encouraging, its the start of seeing a multi-tool beast of an NHL dman. Hes 21 with his up and downs but I am super encouraged that he is going to be a nasty guy to play against in a season or 2, once his game matures some more and he is surrounded with an actual D Core.

The problem is that when he makes a mistake is amplified by 10 from the peanut gallery since he has been playing so well for 90% of the time. When one of the Junk Dmen make the same bad play no one bats an eye at it. Hes not immortal but he defiantly is Zads the destroyer out there now

I absolutely agree w the last half of this assessment. his mistakes are magnified by a thousand when he makes them because theres not that experience shown from Zaddy where people will give him the benefit of doubt or shrug it off knowing he'll make up for his mistake later in the game. but the progress is tremendous and I really see him forming into a nice reliable Chara type.

I freakin love his cocky attitude when he does something really well too, that smirk he makes has to get under opposing players skin just watch in Feb when he obliterates O'Reilly in a buffalo game on the 25th, my bday

Whatever he is becoming into, I am a fan. People just need to relax. Avs stink this year, the roster isnt good but luckily the finally will have roster freedom next year and some solid prospects to finally make the jump instead of filling a roster full of waiver wire, bottome teir UFAs and traded cast offs

Yeah I love what Zads has been doing recently. Bob Mckenzie was on the radio and practically stated the Sabres won that trade. I don't agree. We see the potential in Zads and we haven't even seen Compher yet. I'm excited about next year but man do we need to rid ourselves of a lot of our veteran players. I hope with every goal Iggy scores it can get us something better for him.

Who cares what MSM guys have to say about the trade, their job is to sell interest and clicks. Dater is (frank)ing that chicken story line still, getting clicks and hits trolling Avs fans.

If we stop fighting when people say that, the narrative will die, then maybe they will start to pay attention to Zads and Compher

Dater is nuts, he got canned from The Denver Post for sexual harassment a few years ago.

Would love to see them call up some of the young guys (considering they are trying to showcase the veterans before then deadline).

Post deadline bring up Greer, Compher, Bigras, hell even Siemens! I'm sure there's even a few players I'm forgetting! Do what the Leafs did last year and move that young talent up and see how it fairs out. If we have any chance of moving forward next year it's with a youth movement and it's better to find out now how it is going to work. This season is lost already as it is, let's see what our future holds.

Let's clear out Iggy, Bourque, Tyutin (even though he's having a decent season), Mitchell, Gelinas, and please Lord Beauchemin

Stack the closet with draft picks!! Do this rebuild right

Overall I like what Sakic has done and I wouldn't want anyone else at the helm. The stupid Denver Post guys hate on him too much. The only thing is that he gave Soderberg too much money but otherwise I can honestly say I agree with pretty much all he's done. The Stuart deal was more a Patty thing. I thought Colborne was going to be at least a 20 goal scorer but I was wrong

Agreed. The Shanaplan is doing well in leaf land. Sakic loves this franchise too much for it to sink deeper into the abyss.

well the Leafs have the luxery of spending millions of dollars to put together the biggest and best hockey staff known to man.

50m for Babcock to coach, Adding guys like Lamoriello, Cliff Fletcher, Jacques Lemaire, Mark Hunter into their management group.

Thats what I would love for the Avs to do, start spending money on the management group like that. Bring in legit hockey minds to help run this thing. If Claude Juilen is fired, do whatever you can to bring him in for a position. Stuff like that

Yeah I'd love for Julien to be here but the problem is he will probably want to coach and won't take a different role. He won't be unemployed for long no matter what he decides to do. Definitely agree Sakic needs to surround himself with better and more knowledgeable personnel to help him

The shanaplan is definitely a luxury most teams can't afford and they were also gift wrapped a generational hockey player in Matthews. There was no way the Leafs weren't landing Matthews in that draft if you know what I'm saying

Although I'm just a little jealous it doesn't hurt to take a peek over at the Shanaplan and see what works and how they develop their youth. We have a few young pieces that can make a real difference. Shanaplan I just love saying that

This is where management needs to step up and throw some cash around and quit settling for mediocrity. We can't go through any more high end draft picks and still be at the bottom of the league

The weird this is that we are right against the cap for this season. When our Vets age, they age very quickly. From a goal scoring perspective for his first two years, Iginla has absolutely delivered. Now he's barely skating out there and can't handle the puck. Beauchemin's play has fallen off considerably and we still have another year left of him at 4.5M.

I agree there is no middle ground with the vets. Iggy has been solid for us in his 3 years and I want to see him moved to a contender, a guy like that deserves it!

If they move Beauch that is a huge accomplishment! I will lose my mind

David Poile just missed his radio interview. I can only assume it was to finalize the Duchene trade.

That would be a win right there. McLeod, Beauchemin and 1 other of the several options get traded and I am happy.
