You mentioned that you don't want a local kid, so I am curious to know what is considered local. To me Vancouver, Abbotsford, Surrey are different communities so not sure of distinction.
But hey what do I know I just support my "local" nhl team and I live in Kitimat.

You don't consider Surrey local to Vancouver? Reallly? I guess I view whistler to Hope as local

Willy D knows Miller won't be here next year, as of today. Markstrom is pegged at being a number 1 goalie next year (projected). You would think this would be on the back of his mind and MAYBE Markstrom should start more now. I completely understand running with a goalie who is playing well, but you HAVE to think about the future. Like I said earlier, its a double edged sword, playing a hot goalie now to win, or playing your projected number 1 starter next year to get some games in and work on consistency. I totally understand Willy's reasoning as to why he is playing Miller this much, but what do you do next year at camp when Miller is gone.

Good points for Marky. May be what JB wants. But WD doesn't plan much past the next game. Maybe week long outlook at best. So long term for club not his agenda. He likes Marky. He's not too high on tandem sharing and if he's got to choose between the two he takes Miller. A rested Miller is better so Marky will get some starts along the way.

That's pretty much the way it's been. Won't change. He does the same with his skaters. Picks who he likes and rides them. No game to game mamagement or change up on options. Thats just not how he likes to coach. Gets you loyalty among core. Questions or patience on those outside looking in. Got to wait for your injury breaks and dive in.

I actually consider all of South west mainland as Vancouver area, others consider BC as local, just wanted to know which players you prefer not to have on Team. Now you have defined your version of local thanks.

I'm not against the team having BC kids. I just recognize the extra level of distractions a local kid faces. JV is always out partying w his buds [img][/img]

exactly, he should have changed that after the 1st. But he doesnt have the right stuff to catch on to stuff like that, which is why he's out coached on a continued basis
- SMBDragon

I think I've figured him out. HE likes to stick to his game plan. He gives a lot of rope to vets to work out overcoming what's not working. He doesn't like to tinker. So what seems like he doesn't get it is more stubborness to sticking to the odds. More often vets figure out and adjust. Young guys not and so he tight ropes them out at first sign. It does cost games when it doesn't work. Reacting and adapting is an art form. But he believes that the long game is the players gel and adapt on their own. Or at least that's my guess on what I have pieced together.

Yes he is. Some posters just get excited because of the name Subban. He is not a good prospect.

Could very well be . If that is the case then trade Sbisa even if for a 3 or 4

That seems to be the safe play.

Big difference between being from PG or the Kootneys then from being from Abbotsford. Too close too many distractions.

He is way more mature and focussed then JV. He has also had to work extra hard for everything he has accomplished, JV hasn't.

I said all other things equal I'd prefer a prospect that doesn't have to deal with home town distractions. It's my opinion and I'm not presenting it as fact. Why are you arguing this point? If your point is you prefer local prospects then that is ok. Stop being annoying. Stetcher is doing great.

he said when he was hired he likes to stick to things. He's confirmed that over the last 2.5 seasons.

Surrey has bigger problems than me these days... but there was a time when I was part of the problem.

Wasn't arguing. I just find it annoying when the fans don't support local kids being selected to our team. So I wondered why it is a concern or what the issues are if we select these players.

I want Jake to succeed. I am just recognizing the extra pressure and extra distractions he faces playing in his home town. It doesn't help that he is a top 10 pick. If he was undrafted like Stetcher he wouldn't have the pressure

I'd be ok with Rasmussen but I'm not very excited about picking a local kid

Were you the one that advocated to trade Neely or not draft Burnaby Joe Sakic
