St. Louis is going to ask a lot for Shattenkirk (more than Bishop - a very good goalie, but not in the top tier). If you trade for Shattenkirk you want to know you can sign him. I do not see how Tampa can sign him with their cap issues. Both players could be moved, but not for each other (unless Tampa adds a high level prospect and/or high draft pick to the package).
A few very good goalies will change teams this summer . Several teams have 2 goalies that could be starters in the NHL. Rangers, Hawks, Lightning, etc.... A few teams do not even have 1. |

When you go from the conference finals to possibly missing the playoffs, I'd call that a dumpster fire..... - Blues65
lol fair enough. They've made some questionable decisions over the years. Getting rid of Oshie and letting Backes (who I thought played really well in last year's playoffs) walk have hurt their depth in my opinion, but they have done a pretty good job drafting and developing. If they don't make it this year I really don't think the funk will last very long. |

I would think about this if there were a good prospect to go along with the 1st.
Shattenkirk will be able to get a 1st and a prospect.
An issue would be that the Blues need Hutton as their unprotected goalie that is signed through next season. They don't have anyone else, so they would either have to sign Fleury and leave Allen unprotected (not happening as there is no guarantee that Allen would be taken and we can't take that much cap room in two goalies) or have someone else instead of Hutton in a deal with Pittsburgh if it is needed money wise for this year to make it work. |

My bad, I thought he was an UFA at the end of this year like Bishop.
This won't happen for sure. Only way it would happen is if Allen went the other way instead of Hutton. |

MAF is in need of protection also you have two RFA goalies that if you qualify will meet the goalie requirement. There is no games played requirement. |

Doesnt the NMC become nullified if he accepts a trade? |

NMC are only continued on in a trade if the new team accepts it. If the player accepts the trade then the new team can refuse the NMC or accept it - may be wrong but pretty sure that's how it works. |

Pens need a goalie to put up for the draft, so I would think if Flower is trade it will have a backup coming back to put up for expansion or keep as backup for Murray. The talk around the Pens paying Vegas not to take Murray may have merit but I'm not sure we can keep both Murray & Flower on the books, or if Flower even wants to be Murrays back up? So if common sense prevails, the Pens will be looking for a backup sooner or later. |

Tampa Bay is currently dead last in the Atlantic, and they dont have games in had on anyone within immediate reach. So forgive me, but how exactly do they, "have all the pieces in place to make a Cup run?"
It looks to me that they are closing to making a run at the #1 overall pick than they are to a Stanley Cup, which is baffling since all I hear about is how great a GM Yzerman is, despite the fact that he has nothing to show for it. |

It goes away unless the new team agrees to keep it. But if the new team refuses to keep it the player can invoke his no move clause. |
