Certainly wouldn't hurt. Right now its Dumoulin, Letang, Schultz, Daley, Cole, and Maata right? That's pretty solid as is. - SimpleJack
Except for those 3. |

How did he score in Nashville then if Malkin wasn't there? - Feds91Stammer
Answer my question big fella & stop deflecting. You replied to my question that was very clear. We are talking present tense - scoring, not scored. We are talking this team as Geno doesn't play on any other - see simple hints on English text unless your trying to create An alternate argument because you simply can't answer my original question after attempting to diminish my intelligence??
So now we are on the same page, please give me reasons you seem to understand better than I why Horny doesn't need Geno to 'score' (present tense not past so you don't get confused my illiterate little friend )?
To quote a great movie - "go ahead punk, make my day" |

Is that why during the San Jose playoff series, Schultz was given very short shifts when the sharks put their top line on. I understand their point, however you see it in every game the mathcups used. This will be one topic I never agree on. - cornnation

Quality of competition is very similar to shot quality: it plays a huge role in individual shifts/shots, but over the course of a season the differences across teams and players are small enough that it can usually be neglected.

How about you provide data that proves he needs Malkin to score. Until then go (frank) a dingo. - Feds91Stammer
How many goals has he scored this year - Horny that is? How many were assisted by Geno? How many games has Horny played with Sid & Geno?
I asked the question, you replied by insulting my intelligence & now again you are diverting the 'discussion' to avoid backing up your stupid comments you made about me?
So check what's above & answer the question smart guy. You want to prove your intelligence go ahead, you replied to my comment so answer it without diverting the conversation away from my original question which you are still trying to do!! |

Not diverting anything. Just waiting for you to provide actual data instead of letting you stand behind a hollow claim like you always do with a dozen laughing emojis. |

I said draisaitl was on McD line & you admit he's a beast? Is that good so far? So now you go 1 step further just to try & discredit my comment which quoted jboyd, by saying world class, where originally you only stated good players - which everyone agrees Draisaitl is? Right?
So what is a world class player? Again you are changing your argument to try & make yourself look intelligent & others not. Why didn't you say 'world class players' originally? Didn't you remember how good Draisaitly is?
So tell me, explain 'world class player' to me, as you have stated Kessel, Geno & Letang? |

Yes I read the articles. The second one was interesting especially how he had to use a bunch of different fancy stats to get to his point. At one point he even mentions despite these caveats. My point is you can manipulate stats how you like to get to a certain point. And analytics is a great tool, however there is a human element and I'm sorry analytics can't correct show everything. Just like people shouldn't take certain stats at face value. |

Haha hahha I see what you did there. Your right, there is only one way to see things in hockey. By showing us stats on how good a team is with or without a player. |

Oh no I was just asking, not to be a Richard, cause the question about schultz/minimal ice time was directly related to the conclusion at the end of the first article. How it matters shift to shift, but when analyzing large samples.. things tend to wash out. That's why I asked |

Apart from the stat from the other day, I've given you hints above which you are conveniently ignoring?? Why did you reply to my comment originally if you 'need' more information. Now you are at the stalling stage of the conversation where you are trying not to reply to a given fact - yes I said fact!
How many goals has horny scored this year? Let's say 11 (no time to stat check but be my guest to correct it ), of those 11 Geno has assisted on 8 or 9 I believe, Horny having played with both Sid & Geno. So if you agree that Sid is world class but Horny scores a lot more goals this season (no good talking anything else because this season is what it's all about), with Geno, then my comment that Horny needs Geno to score is backed up by those 'actual events' or 'actual data' or 'real events'. I'm not good at math (or at least not as good as you think you are), so what % is that for Geno assisting Hornys goals?
So as per my original comment which you replied to trying to insult my intelligence, show me why Horny doesn't need Geno to score goals. (just for you the laughing head!) |

How did he run him from behind, Krug lost his footing, if he hadn't it wouldn't have looked as bad. Watch the replay, he let's up at the end. - cornnation
Yeah I agree he lost his footing, his numbers before he lost his footing were directly facing JG. Then JG did very little in the way of pulling up because he was already committed to hitting a player directly in the numbers about 3 ft away from the boards. Its dirty and players should be held accountable for their actions by other players. You can't tell me it doesn't prevent anything, there is no way to measure what it has and has not prevented. |
