Chill bud. They are perfectly fine for grabbing a quick stat or checking a score.

does roster really benefit Sid? (outside of Letang). I would assume Sid is still pulling the toughest match ups. The real benefit is to Kessel who gets fed lower level match ups because Sid is taking the hard match ups. Crosby doesn't benefit that mu8ch because Kessel is on the ice against 3rd liner.
- sditulli

That roster gives them the scariest PP in the league. I don't think EDM can say the same. I also believe the Pens have better PMDs to facilitate the puck up the ice than Edmonton does.

Letang, Schultz, Daley, Maata, Dumo, Cole >>>>>>>> Klefbomb, Nurse, Larsson, Benning, Sekera, Russell

Except having Malkin and Kessel help with his deployment and matchups and Letang helps significantly in a way no Oilers D man comes close to.

But other teams are still matching their top d pairings against Crosby. So McDavid and Crosby are facing top dmen.

Good point on Letang. But Sid still gets the tough matchups every night so Malkin and Kessel don't help there. It's more Malkin who benefits there.

Not really trying to say one or the other has a significant advantage, I think it's actually close. The Pens spread their talent more than most teams and part of having Crosby and Malkin on thebsame team is they don't always get the top wings other teams do who build more around a top center.

Don't forget that McD plays in the West. The greatest conference in the history of all sports.

some of your flyers fans are quite enamored with him. i personally dont know if he slots in better as top line wing or a stud down the middle.

I'd use him as a good 2C and play him on the top PP.

I bet Ryans opinion on that hit would be different if Olesky was the player hitting. Jakes going to have to fight eventually if he keeps ignoring that a player has his back turned 3 ft from the boards.

I just love how he blasts Marchand and McQuaid saying they should have been ejected, then when referring to Malkin cross-checking a dude in the head/neck area, that he simply "didn't like that." But, I would expect most bloggers to do the same for their respective teams. Just kinda funny.

I think all 3 of Crosby, Malkin, and McDavid are really good at playing professional ice hockey.

Indeed. Great analysis. Most accurate in this thread yet, really.

Jakey is this blogs nee little puppy dog. Even if he blatently runs a guy from behind he does no wrong, but you know shame on the big guy for trying to stick up for a a friend. Marchand is a POS But he isnt out of Jakey poos league. Should have fought him. Hockey used to hav.e such a higher standard

I wouldn't want him fighting anyone at all, that's not his game, and especially not McQuaid, who was first on the scene. Marchand is in his league, but has a lot more experience. But yeah, if you hit a guy from behind like that, you should be ready for some retaliation.

How did he run him from behind, Krug lost his footing, if he hadn't it wouldn't have looked as bad. Watch the replay, he let's up at the end.

A good thing that MAF was on the bench last night (where he belongs). Things might have been different if he played. Murray was solid and MAF folds like a cheap suit under the pressure sometimes. IMO that would have been last night
