But yes he has far superior linemates.

Doesn't he have better linemates that a undrafted free agent and a 3rd round pick. I'm not sure on McDavid's linemates but are they lucic and eberle. Also Edmonton isn't an awful team this year; they are 7th on espn's power rankings and the Pens are 3rd. (though i consider the actual gap much larger).

OK but your analysis is proving oilers are better with McDavid on ice than off. Besides anyone with common sense already knowing that, what else does it prove. Ok the pens have some better players, but I can guarantee sheary and rust don't have the season they are having on a line with cullen or bonino. Against top d pairings Crosby is doing better than McDavid with worse linemates.

Like others said, Pens have the better team, but Crosby doesn't have a linemate like Draisaitl either. Having Malkin and Kessel on his team only helps Crosby on the PP, but Crosby and McDavid have the same amount of even strength points and McDavid likely has the edge in help there.

as I said yesterday. you could take in average TOI between the 2 players in to consideration too. 19min sid 21 min mcdavid = 164 min more hockey in a 82 game season = about 8 games more played and since sid missed 6 games that means connor will have played 14 games more than sid at end of season.

Larsson is trash, Nurse ain't that great. Nuge is kinda overrated. Drais is the man. Eberle is solid. But the Pens have a far superior roster. Only reason EDM is where they are is because of McD. Pens could survive without Sid because of that Geno guy and maybe hot dog Phil.

does roster really benefit Sid? (outside of Letang). I would assume Sid is still pulling the toughest match ups. The real benefit is to Kessel who gets fed lower level match ups because Sid is taking the hard match ups. Crosby doesn't benefit that mu8ch because Kessel is on the ice against 3rd liner.
