I went down there, did Simmer/AMac/Mason (my buddy wanted to get gus Simmonds WC jersey signed), we went to Ghost's line but everything was closed. It was poorly run, in my opinion. I got my little 50th poster signed by those 3, and Mason signed it on the left, AMac middle, and Simmonds (terrible sign, btw) on the right.
- jmatchett383

It wasn't very well run. Some of the locations to enter were wrong. And the rule of one item per player wasn't enforced which slowed things a bit.

Simmer and Ghost were really cool with my friend who was on leave from the Air Force and was totally stoked to be meeting those guys.

The kids and sled hockey going on while waiting was pretty cool though.

Its about the state of the current team, not that team
The Zhitnik ( Streit ) for Coburn trade is the only one. As far as the Calder trade, why do we need another depth defenseman? We already have plenty of that.

- MJL

I also dont think many teams make the Zhitnik trade these days

January 1st Ducks, 55 shots to 25

Raffl-Giroux-Voracek
Konecny-Schenn-Simmonds
Read-Couturier-Weise

January 22nd Islanders, 47 shots to 38

Raffl-Giroux-Voracek
Konecny-Schenn-Simmonds
Read-Couturier-Cousins

These lines lasted two games earlier this month and they clearly have had the most impact with shots on goal, as well as provide the balance throughout the line up. Why hasn't this happened sooner?
- SuperSchennBros

As clear as the 1.5 million people in Washington on Friday.

January 7th, TB, 44 shots to 26

Raffl-Giroux-Read
Konecny-Couturier-Voracek
Weise-Schenn-Simmonds

January 10th, Buf, 40 shots to 27

I don't know.

With the ability to retain salary it makes things different. Deal is probably made today but salary is probably retained.

Okay I should've said this...I dont think many teams make the Coburn trade these days.

Zhitnik would get traded for with retained salary, but teams don't give up players like that anymore. You get Weal not Coburn

I think we all remember the trade deadline that saw Alexis Zhitnik for Brayden Coburn, Peter Forsberg for Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent and a First Round Pick, Kyle Calder turned into Lasse Kukkanen and a third for Martin Biron. Now, we all know we weren't a contender then and we aren't now. Except we have a shot at the playoffs. Not making it would be a step back, advancing would be a step forward, getting knocked off in the first round keeps us in the same place. My point is, there is no reason not to look for upgrades, minor or otherwise.
- SuperSchennBros

Biron was for a second rounder. first pick in the second round that ended up being Philly's own TJ Brennan

Just an FYI to everybody. The Flyers are 8th in the eastern conference in points percentage. It won't be an easy road to the playoffs, but they aren't doomed unless somebody comes in and says they are doomed.

Scratching Vandevelde would go against one of God's commandments. It shalt not be done or thou will surely suffer the wrath of the LORD!

Or the wrath of Hak, but either way, there gonna be some wrath.

Only one of those trades is a deal the Flyers would both want to make, and could make.

I asking for holes to get plugged. They should be plugged. July 1st isn't the only time to do this.

I don't know, aging former superstar with health issues who's a UFA in 2 months for 2 young 1st round picks and a 1st round pick in next year's draft might be made today. I don't think there's anyone who works as a comp in today's game (or on the team), but if the Flyers fell out of the race, I could see them making that trade again.

Provorov and a 1st for Duchesne!

Edit: Matthew Tkachuk should be suspended for 10 games. Then again, Shaw did the same thing and got nothing.

Yes, but you don't want to overpay, and it takes two to tango. If the asking price for a hole plugger is too high, then the plug will be addressed later.

Wow, 44 shots sure seems like a close number to 55 shots, as does 40 to 47. You know the Ducks and Islanders are good teams and Sabers are bad, right?

If a team prices themselves out, you don't make the deal.
