I would be completely fine with a 4th line with Laughton as a center. Look at the old Devils line of Pandolfo - Madden - Brylin. They would player a strong 2 way game but also chip in timely offense.

If that is what our 4th line does i'll be happy.

Those were solid NHL players, you are asking a guy in the AHL to hopefully become.
Think everyone is hoping against hope for this kid.
Don't get me wrong.
I'd love to see him come in and take over the 4th line and be at least 50% of Madden. I just haven't seen but nary a flash of this becoming a reality.

Think I was like 11 the last time I ate any Cinnabon, and my family all split one. I like my sweets, but I don't eat poop like that...don't even eat fast food. Pretty much just consume blood as my staple food.

Laughton when he was up showed plenty of flashes of his talent. He just lost his way. There is still a realistic opportunity for him to make it back to the NHL.

He has a toolbox that many successful players in the NHL have. He has a hell of a wrister with speed. I like that they're now telling him that his role is a Bottom 6 player now. Maybe he was feeling burdened to be a scorer, by his draft status before and he can just relax now. I don't know. But it's too early to give up on him and no reason to the flyers need him to put it together

Like you said the flashes. When you show it there's always a chance to put it together

I think we all remember the trade deadline that saw Alexis Zhitnik for Brayden Coburn, Peter Forsberg for Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent and a First Round Pick, Kyle Calder turned into Lasse Kukkanen and a third for Martin Biron. Now, we all know we weren't a contender then and we aren't now. Except we have a shot at the playoffs. Not making it would be a step back, advancing would be a step forward, getting knocked off in the first round keeps us in the same place. My point is, there is no reason not to look for upgrades, minor or otherwise.

Provorov and a 1st for Duchesne!

Edit: Matthew Tkachuk should be suspended for 10 games. Then again, Shaw did the same thing and got nothing.

Anyone going down to the team autograph thing tonight?
- jmatchett383

I went down there and am now laughing as the poster they gave us has 6 signatures. AMac, Simmer, Read, Schultz and Ghost all signed on the left side... Only one on the right side, Mason! Are they saying something since Mase signed it first????

Only one of those trades is a deal the Flyers would both want to make, and could make.

In the last second of the game, which the Flames lost 4-0, kicked Marcinin's skates out from behind him.

I went down there, did Simmer/AMac/Mason (my buddy wanted to get gus Simmonds WC jersey signed), we went to Ghost's line but everything was closed. It was poorly run, in my opinion. I got my little 50th poster signed by those 3, and Mason signed it on the left, AMac middle, and Simmonds (terrible sign, btw) on the right.

I'm not sure I follow. All 3 of those trades, given the state of the team, were smart, good trades. If we were to apply it to the team today, Zhitnik (comp: Streit?) for Coburn and the Calder (comp: Read/Weise?) trade are trades I make all day.

No, no dragons were present. There was a cute girl in line in front of us, though. And I did hear Coatsey get yelled at for posing with Simmonds (only candid photos were allowed).

Its about the state of the current team, not that team
The Zhitnik ( Streit ) for Coburn trade is the only one. As far as the Calder trade, why do we need another depth defenseman? We already have plenty of that.
