Tavares shoulda came off after missing the breakaway in OT. He was clearly gassed.

Completely agree. What is with him not coming off in the OT? This has obviously happened a few times this year.

Exactly. I went on a short rant last night on this very subject. 3 on 3 is a different animal than 5 on 5........or even 4 on 4. It was only invented last season to cut back on the number of shoot outs. JT hasn't got a clue how to play 3 on 3, nor has he had a coach from whom he could buy a clue. The Isles must have one of the worst OT records in the NHL, because no one in the organization has studied the matter to develop any kind of a 3 on 3 strategy. Remember last season where Cappy would put out 2 d-men with JT to start the OT?? If that doesn't demonstrate cluelessness, I don't know what does.

yes actually 2 goals came off Tavares turnovers. (1st and gamewinner) but oh well, guys need to pick it up and not wait for him to do everything.

I do agree Strome had lazy backcheck on game tying goal but that not why they tied game. Great job Weight for holding some accountability, and benching strome.

That said, we had numerous chances to put that game away at end and we didn't. Surprise Surprise another sub par goalie plays his best game of year vs us.

That said, If we didn't wait till 45 game mark to fire Capuano and start winning we wouldn't be too made getting a point last night.

isles need to follow up with two straight wins vs Columbus and Habs now

Not enough pure finishers on this team. Need another 1a behind JT. I'm sick of Bailey missing the net like he did last night. Or Strome fumbling the puck. God, he has been such a letdown.

Anyway, on to the BJ's!

I get JT may not have a lot of great talent around him, but he cannot take it all on his own. He cannot say on for the entire OT.

agree 100%. JT try to do it all. also if you going to do it, make mistakes in offensive zone. He cant try to do it all.

Either way, I like the way we playing. It think we can beat BJs and Habs. Caps going to be the toughest task. Especially b/c we beat them last two games.

The more Snow waits the higher he price tag goes up. Also Upstate there are people here that still don't realize how good he is. I think this guy has been amazing since putting on isles sweater. he might be best goalie we have had in last 15 years.

I hope the coaching change brings some luck against the Habs. Isles match up terribly against them. Figures the one game I went to this year was against the Habs.

Clearly and some of the saves are flat out ridiculous I mean there's a reason his numbers are up there with league leaders

5th in save % 12 in gaa but that's with a terrible defensive team in front of him. The guy can flat out win you a game he came close last night isles missed a few glorious chances see Bailey strome on pp and jt breakaway

Anyone else find themselves watching our power(less) play and wondering when Pulock will be on the point with that lethal slap shot of his? How many more chances is Strome going to get there to be ineffective?

As bad as the Isles played, They missed some serious scoring chances. Greiss gave them every shot to win that game.

I don't think strome going to be an islanders much longer. Sad bc I loved him as a rookie but it hink Cappy ruined him. Strome likely gets the bench when Ladd comes back. I want Ladd to stay out of lineup for as long as he can to be very healthy and contribute.

Nelson needs to wake up too. Can Lee tell him hey Nelson, you almost as big as I am and and have better shot and are better skater. Wake the F up.

Agreed, we didn't lose b/c of one bad backchecking play by Strome or Bailey missing on PP. We had Multiple chance to put that game away and we didn't. That game should of been won in Regulation. We need Flyers to get no points. Whether we got extra point in OT it really doesn't make that much difference. We need 2 wins this weeks, Show the Playoff teams (habs, Columbus) in East that if we make the playoffs we can beat them.

Nelson is driving me crazy. I'm not looking for him to drive guys through the boards. Can he at least use his size a little? Strome, I can see including to bring back a needed piece, but I'd rather give him so more time and would not just give him away.

Exact same scenario as Saturday vs Kings with visitor coming out strong in third period except not as fortunate. We needed to score the third goal.

Watching Zuccarello make play in OT for NYR is type of play we would have expected from Strome but he is no better than Quine, Prince or any of the other clone forwards. As a rookie playing here and at BRI you could see he had a lot of zone awareness but that is gone from his play. He sees the ice just like the other clones.
