Oh please...stop making excuses for Hutton. He was an anchor for EG

Good god man.
Both the eye-test and stats fundamentally disprove that.
Guds could barely pass/swipe/shoot the puck out of the defensive zone, let alone actually skate it out.

His grand highlight reels always consisted of him chasing forwards into our own defensive zone.

JB has the eye for scouting & drafting.
Tallon has the needed savvy for everything else.
The 2 together a good mix.
Egos aside its worth trying.

I understand the concept of BPA but this is still supposed to be entertaining. Young Dmen are only so exciting. Their position requires restraint.

During the rebuild I'm not so worried about losing games. I would rather lose games 7-6 instead of 4-1 with 18 shots for. The flash and dash is what makes major league sports worth watching.

Can we please have a prospect with some offense? Please? Our team is incredibly boring

The 10-20 range (frank)ing sucks. I don't care who they take at that range because it will be left up to this team's development system to get the most out of that player... unless JB gets lucky and finds a player who everyone else missed. Not great odds of that happening though.

If you get a top 5 pick it gives you options. If it's a poor draft then you can trade it for a positional need or a later draft pick or too.

4 of the top 5 prospects are forwards. I think you got to look at them and see who fits your needs best and hope they develop quickly or at best step right into the NHL.

I don't think you will be drafting top 5 . Just a hunch.

Cody Glass could be him depending on who falls to us.
To tough to make the call who gets picked ahead of us.
So much depends on our final standng.

Offense aside no forward likes getting punished by rugged d men.
Going to the net becomes scary for the timid player & in the PO's more so.
He will be what the Dr ordered once we r perennial PO team again.

Consistency. At times they play a great game. But it's so few in a long season.

Grinding out wins at the expense of excitement will cripple this franchise. Look at the Devils. Hell, they were winning cups and nobody gave a (frank).

Middlestad and Tolvanen might still be there but I doubt it.

Suzuki is making some noise right now as well.

But the line "his grand highlight reels always consisted of him chasing forwards into our own defensive zone" is funny as hell.

He's done wonders for Hutton's game.
- golfingsince

He did while injured and covering up Hutton brain farts. This is where Hutton was indecisive between pushing offense or covering up. Showed more when they were playing top 2 for that stretch. Too much of an ask for both at the time. IMO.

lol.

The feeling is mutual.

Here you are whining about the lack of offense yet think the 22 year old kid who's on pace to score more goals then Gud's overall point total is the problem.

I don't hate Hutton...I just think he is their worst D and is treated with kid gloves. He makes terrible decisions too frequently. I felt bad for EG all season as somehow he was getting the blame.

When we had Salo Edler & Erhoff as threats we were dangerous on the PP.

True. Hope BB can spark that with others here. Don't know if this draft has another better then him to add.
