Great, new regime. When a franchise is about to undertake one of the most important restructuring periods in its history you want to make sure you give it to people who have never done anything remotely like it before. That's the kind of out-of-the-box thinking we need.

Massive roster turnover? It's not just about moving players, it's about what you get in return. This team was and still is unable to get the best value out of their greatest assets. It's a long and cherished tradition with our team. Management waits too long to convert. Benning has moved many players out but I'm not overly impressed with the results. Is the roster any more "fresh" than it was 2 or 3 seasons ago? You send players out and then replace them with miller, vrbata, and eriksson? Doesn't really scream change to me.

Drafting well? Your assessment or has that been proven?

I expect more than mediocrity.

- bloatedmosquito

No question JB has done a good job drafting.
His few trades to fill the age gap has given us more stability.
As for mediocrity there r only a few elite teams now.
The end to this season will tell us more & next season is the real acid test

If we could hire Dale Tallon & he were in the fold would be my greatest wish.

The theory behind 4 lines is more resilient to match ups.
On the road if not 2 scoring lines going good or bottom lines don't perform well usually a loss occurs. 3 lines deep is a force anytime. 4th line cinches it.
WD likes the 4 line approach but we r not quite there yet. Its on JB to keep giving WD the talent & depth he needs. WD is JB's hiring & for JB to make it come together.

- Nighthawk

What team in the NHL runs 4 lines effectively? I think it's a myth. I'm looking at TOIs around the league and I see no evidence of teams doing it effectively.

Someone mentioned CBJ a week ago and in reality it's the exact opposite.

I've been female doging for years now but I still find it hard to believe this franchise was unable to come out of the 2011/12 season with so little. I'm not talking hardware either. I'm talking about turning assets into future assets.

I think it was you who mentioned about being 4 years away from being 4 years away. That's what's driving me so crazy. Since 2011/12 season this franchise has been stumbling around trying to find magic again. That's five seasons right?

There was a window and it closed. It's over so stop chasing it. Get on with what needs to be done.

- bloatedmosquito[/qu

Most of the assets were turned over from that Cup run window. Biggest deficit was D&D. Trying to compete and wanting to make playoffs is part of their transition plan. ALL roads lead to Rome. They aren't chasing the same window. Just making a new frame for the next one.

CLUB missed playoffs recently just didn't win Lotto for can't miss players. So it's more a wait and see on how they develop.

2011-12 Bruins were a great 4 line team
LAK roll that way
Not a myth more so the structural plan.
Always looking for game changers but the bottom 6 can be mastered.

I'll agree with that concept.

Not having a cup is why the fanbase is so impatient with this management, they want JB to pull a rabbit out of a hat I guess.

I think thats no problem.
JB is the scouting wizard & draftist.
Tallon a draftist & trader & contract man.
Covered pretty good for a superteam in mngt.

Had his hit n misses but overall we r getting better.
Hard to see til more assets arrive & we see them play.
D has firmed up solid. BB here soon & OJ a lil later on prolly.
Miller likely resigns while TD grooms more.
All in all its developing clearly where we r going.

I like that. A VP type to weigh in on trades and contracts. Stay at HQ work architect angle.

Yup & a sounding board for JB when he seeks it.
2 good perspectives better than 1.
Tallon has been to a few more rodeos.

You got that partly right. So not having a Cup those you mention want everyone gone. To build a new team by drafting super stars for several years. To do that just draft high and make sure team sucks for years. Anything less is a waste of time for getting built up for a Cup. That's their perspective on impatience.

Hope that rabbit is JT in 2018 šŸ˜œ
Every GM comes onto a new team & dismantles it the way he likes to.
Rebuilds the roster to his marching orders & who he pins his job on.

nice try. Not happening he's not hitting free agency. JT is singed this summer either by Isles or team he's traded too. Bank on that.

JB yeah he's molding. Let's see if the clay hardens right.

Vancity is a party pooper he doesn't want to play

How about just keep it to Hansen and Sbisa solve the Vegas exposure and take back draft picks.

A first should be in order for those desperate bubble dwellers who are underachieving. They got plenty of prospects so why not give up a first. Especially in this subpar draft. Otherwise multiple 2nds.

Selling in a tight market with close races has a price.

Philly & Boston r on the hot seat with the pack chasing them.
TB is in the Eastern Conference basement atm.
PO's were to start today its Mtl/NYR in the 1st round.
Looking forward to more injuries in this greulling season & help heat the trade talks around the league. Only takes a few key players to get dinged up.

I've never missed Hansen so much. Watching Megna last night made me cry inside.
