Guys are gripping their sticks way too tight. Multiple times yesterday, and a couple times in the first period tonight, Flyers with possession in the centre lane in the offensive zone will wait and try to make the perfect shot. Letting the goalie track and make a routine save. They need to stop over thinking it in those situation and fire away. Don't let the goalie re-position.

Flyers outplayed the Isles overall that period, but like it's been happening way to frequently, poor puck management leads to a goal against.

Story of their season for the most part. They carry the majority of the play but the chances they do give up are just such good, fat chances. They consistently turn over pucks at bad times and in the worst places.

Add to that a huge lack of momentum changing saves and an inability to handle any adversity.

They actually did generate a lot of high danger chances that period, though it's easy to forget with one ugly mistake. 7-3 Flyers there. Schenn line had quite a few. So did Couturier line.

While the few opportunities I was speaking of certainly wouldn't change the current team into an offensive dynamo, it is the kind of stuff that could turn them back into a consistent-middling team instead of the shell of a team they are recently.

The current team needs some of the mayhem of random, quick shots in the offensive zone so that guys like Simmer, Schenn, and others can pounce. They won't win with leg speed. They need to use puck speed and the guys that can play inside to get the goals.
