How could he have denied that entry? It was a breakaway.

The mistake MacDonald made was the soft and late pass to Voracek which started the entire sequence.

Of course it was a break away, because AMAC was turn-stilled at the blueline.

He likely had to struggle to keep skating with a boner

Edit: Because of his own masterful pass to Jake.

No he wasnt. He had no chance to stop Taveras once he made the bad pass.

See the earlier breakaway where Gudas was beaten. Thats being turnstiled.

to be clear everyone, once AMAC made the bad pass.

You know, back in the day, that pass was called a suicide pass, because you put the receiver in a position to get his head knocked off of his body.

It was. He gave Voracek zero chance to avoid the checker because the pass was late and weak. MacDonald was completely to blame for the sequence in my opinion.

Flyers outplayed the Isles overall that period, but like it's been happening way to frequently, poor puck management leads to a goal against.

Guys are gripping their sticks way too tight. Multiple times yesterday, and a couple times in the first period tonight, Flyers with possession in the centre lane in the offensive zone will wait and try to make the perfect shot. Letting the goalie track and make a routine save. They need to stop over thinking it in those situation and fire away. Don't let the goalie re-position.
