Drew Miller being waived. Does he have a place on this team ? I doubt it but curious.

Nah. Stay with the youth let them earn their call up

He finds a way to get the puck on net, creates plays and skates really well. There is ZERO reason he should ever be sent back down. Sadly, as soon as Goeges and Kuli are back he's down.

What is the prognosis on McCabe?

I'd pick him up. He's beyond better than D-Lo, COR, Grant (gone, I know), great veteran presence. He doesn't deserve AHL, it's probably his last season in the league anyway.

Not a very classy move by DET, imo.

Going on record saying I have always liked Lehner but agree that you don't trade 1sts for goalies. But Tim was doing uncle Bob a favor and we all know it.

1) I like Lehner
2) I have defended Bogo and want him on this team moving forward
3) I still don't like Bylsma
4) Girgs centering the 4th line - I am OK with this.
5) Gionta - sell "high" while we can with him
6) Franson - trade him
7) Rhino - wasn't mentioned in your column. I like him. Cornerstone to this team moving forward.
8) When the Sabres eventually win the Stanley Cup, people will complain about the price of the beer or length of the line-ups at FNC

- SabreWest

1. Me too. Hes doing ok at the right price. Still see him as a work in progress though.
2. Yeah, ive defended him too. Probably having his offense limited by bylsma, but hes baaaad in his own end. How would you feel knowing he would be logging 20+ minutes in a playoff series? He needs to be considered a third pairing d, an overpaid one, if hes an asset moving forward.
3. The holes on d are not his fault, but i have zero confidence in him moving forward.
4. Hes on a show me deal and not showing much. 4th line at 1.5 sounds fine, i expect he will want better.
5. Sell sell sell
6. Sell sell sell
7. I like him. I want to keep him. If we have to move him to bring in a d to take the next step, well thats gonna suck.
8. That will be a nice problem to have.

Lehner is ok. His fantastic outing last night makes up for getting pulled the game before. Take the bad with the good.

You can win with most goalies in Bylsma's system if they can get production from the blue line.

Girgensons is centering the 3rd line, and not the 4th, and doing a good job as well.

Didn't this happen last year too? He seems to play better with more minutes, as opposed to gorges who declines noticeably after 12-13

1. It's not Lehner's fault Murray gave up what he did to acquire him, I don't think the trade was done to do uncle BRYAN a favor, I found it hard to believe Murray does anybody favors. Murray drafted Lehner and has a strong belief that Robin can be a #1 goalie in this league.
2. If Bogosian is playing in the 5-6 role next year, it doesn't matter what he is being paid if Guhle is playing on a rookie contract and Fedun is making Vet minimum. I don't think the fans would be too happy for very long with a Guhle- Fedun pairing, you would need to mix and match them with other D-men.
3. Let's see what Bylsma can do when he has a healthy line-up and removes some dead weight from the roster and adds faster prospects which should happen in waves.
4. Girgs is a place holder until the prospects get here or until he proves difficult to move.
5. Last year of his Gionta's deal, move him if you get a solid offer, otherwise he finishes the year as Captain.
6. Move him if you get a fair offer and if we are healthy enough to do so.
7. Anybody who wants to trade Rhino ought to have his head examined, he will solid for years to come, in a Dale Hawerchuck sort of way.
8. People will be wondering how Matt Moulson is still on the team, maybe because he and Okposo convinced John Tavares to come to Buffalo

I'm on board to move him.
- jochfr

I would say move him if we don't plan on using Bogo in a more offensive role, if we can get a stay at home defenseman to pair with him he would be a nice piece to have to drive the play. If we leave him with someone un-experienced or shaky in their own zone, he has to go.

Bogo scores 1 goal and people love him ? Lehner still stinks. We have below average talent on this team with high paying talent that we brought in to be better then we are right now, but a save from Lehner and a goal for the guy that's tied with Lehner as the number 1 whipping boy on this team and all of a sudden we are " good" again?.

Average save percentage: .913
Lehner save percentage : .921

Bogo is gonna be here for a while because of his contract. If he's playing well, good for us

I don't care abut Lehner's save percentage, that's been brought up countless times now through the year. You don't have to tell me about Bogo and his contract, I know.

Lehner's numbers don't indicate that he stinks, numbers are facts not opinions. Nobody said Bogosian doesn't need to be better, but in the right role he can be productive, at least until we find someone new to step in, and by the way Shattenkirk is about as good defensively as Bogo.
I also think Falk deserves a little more credit for his play this year he doesn't make many mistakes and takes the body pretty well.
