(frank) off already with this bullpoop. It's been done to death around here and you aren't bringing any new insites, or any reasonable thinking to the conversation. Just more conjecture and a lot of running your mouth. - Ihatebrianburke
Lol. We can turn this board into a safe space if you prefer? |

Surprisingly so. - Wildschwein
Not without precedent. Swedes aren't all pleasant and nice. Kronwall has destroyed guys open ice for years. |

If they were swapped for each other, my guess is they weren't willing to deal a franchise defender for a winger.
Each player clearly has some traits the other gm wanted.
But after a cornerstone d for cornerstone d trade occurs, I don't see how anyone can say we shoulda got it done with our winger asset - HB77
For context, the rumored ask from Montreal for Subban was Draisaitl, the 4th overall pick and Nurse (or Klefbom). Think about that for a second. Which overpayment would you go for? |

Semis. AKA I lose money today. Didn't bother betting on the other game because I don't see Pitt having a hope against the Pats. - TheTaoOfSemenko
I know nothing about football... Not one damn thing. I'd say that's the sport that I follow the least. |

At this point, it goes without saying that he's the best forward from that draft.
In time, there's a chance that he could be the best player from it, period. And Ekblad is a (frank)ing beaut. - lumlums

The oilers picked right? Dare I say it!!? |

Thank you for helping me make my point.
I think Reilly has better offensive instincts. Larsson protects better and is a lot meaner. - TheTaoOfSemenko
He does for sure - it really depends on how you want to defend: Do you want to do so with that mean guy who blocks shots, hits hard and makes people think twice about coming into your zone, or do you want the guy with good stick work who defends by picking up the puck and skating it 100+feet away. My personal preference is for the latter, but that's just me. |

Imo a trade like that makes us worse overall. Especially how the big kraut has picked up his game this year. |

I'll take a little of both. Thus Klefbom-Larsson. |

We already had guys that do that or can. Our unquestioned #1 need was a brick wall shut down dman with skill. The mean streak and hitting is a bonus. |

It's a wonder they never asked for McDavid to be thrown in there as well. |

Yes and no - the need was for an upgrade on D. Pittsburgh don't really have anybody who would be considered as a bruising D, and they've done quite well recently... |

I said it was a bonus lol, and this is a Chiarelli team now. Year #2 and they're already a fairly bruising and mean bunch. Even Mcdavid is developing a nastier side, and he looks like he still plays with GI Joes.
My daughter was watching after hours with me and asked how old Gaudreau is, because she thought he was 16 lol. |

Yeah but they also sport 2 of the top 5 players in the world up front as well. |
