Oilers have pretty much admitted multiple times this last month that they are still looking for a true top pair because no one they have is fitting the bill and they will not be an elite team until they get one.

Not what I read into what's being reported. They're looking for an offensive catalyst to QB the PP which could easily come in the form of a 2nd pairing guy like Barrie or Shattenkirk. Mike Green would also work.

There was a need, a desperate need to improve the Defense. Everyone knew it and no one was going to give a fair trade. Edm HAD to overpay.

It is not just Larrson. It is also getting a solid middle guy in Russel.

Also a solid signing in Benning.

The D is much improved and a very big reason this team has improved.
