How the hell did Gallant's firing start the ball rolling to Capuano's firing? This team sucking started that ball rolling. They started talking to Gallant 3 weeks before firing Cappy. If he wanted the job he would have had it then. - PeteM
Or if they wanted to hire him. If a PoHO is hired then you would think he would want to have some input to who's coaching the team. Just my opinion. |

I give Torts an a for effort. No way should Cappy be near the top for any jobs. Not with guys like Dineen, Crawford, and maybe Clade available. - ses111
Let's just hope he gets a job in the eastern conference. |

Garth really franked up not trading Hamonic for Hall. I'd rather Garth not do anything as well, but a deal with Colorado is very tempting. Isles can make a deal and still have prospects to spare. Colorado would have to take some salary back to make the Cap work. - ses111
Yes he did. Just one of his many blunders. Now he may be ready to trade him for less of a return. Ridiculous |

I think if they can make a move for Duchene around Hamonic it will be worth it. I'm not sure if they should make one for Landeskog? |

Isles can make it work for sure, only issue is COL ridiculous asking price (which is prob absurd), but def a deal/trade can be brokered....

Isles can move Hamonic and one of the young goalie prospects and the #1 or maybe MDC? I would not offer much beyond that. |

Hamonic is a start but adding a #1 pick or MDC plus G prospect is a lot,
Duchene is carrying a $6m salary, and i think might need new contract in 2yrs, so that has to come into consideration... |

Col would have to take back some salary maybe Bailey or Kulemin? The #1 pick may not be a lottery pick. One of the goalie prospects would not be a big deal. I'd like to keep MDC, but Isles still would have Barzal, Beau, and Bellows. Landeskog may cost a little less not sure, but he may break down quicker with the type of style he plays? |

84% chance that it is a lottery pick....

Btw, what's going on with Tampa??? They killed the Isles this season, but apparently can't beat anyone else.... |

For both players, if i were isles management, i'd start with Hamonic/Dehaan/Lee as a package and see what else might have to be thrown in..??
Isles instantly get better & COL finally has a top 4 group |

Lee?
Schwein will not be happy. I would not trade Lee. I would trade Nelson before Lee. Hamonic and de Haan I would be willing to trade. |

The reason for Lee is simple,
If isles have Landes & Ladd & Lee, thats 3LW that are similar, i rather not, so u have to part w/1 of them plus his $4m comes off to offset salaries too...
If isles acquire Duchene, Strome & Nelson days are numbered bc of Barzal & Beau
edit: reason why i didnt want Ladd at all |

Nothing wrong with depth on your LW position. Landy is quick and skates with the puck. He's much more of a play maker than Lee or Badd.
Agree Barzal, knocking on the door and Beau make Strome and or Nelly tradable then why even consider Lee who has really been the only net front presence the Islanders have?
Edit: 100 % Agreed with you on that. Maybe the only ones on here. |

Lee is a keeper. The guy does the dirty work in front of the crease that the rest of the team shies away from. |

I rather focus on getting Duchene and keeping Lee. I think I would keep Strome over Nelson at this point. Nelson is way too soft. |

Nelson has a nice wrister, but when he's not shooting, he offers little else. |

This is the problem with Nelson. The puck battle he lost and then the penalty he took was brutal. |

Only thing w/Duchene is JT will be getting a large contract extension, and in 2yrs, Duchene will at least command $8m or more |
