Teams in a big need for D r Oilers, TB, Dallas, Bruins, Arizona, Av 's, Leafs to name most of them. Thats a lot a competition to trade for them. Our offense is sad yes but our team defence is pretty solid.

I won't be surprised if the Leafs falter in the second half. The Leafs have been playing like a contending team for the past month. It is just not reasonable to expect that to continue from a team with this many rookies, especially when the rookies are your best players.

Marincin. WTF. That is not bad luck. He flipped puck high, towards the boards at that stage of the game; Just a stupid play.

From the moment the puck went over the boards, the way the rest of the game was going to play out was predictable and inevitable.

He has looked ordinary for a while now. The Leafs defense is still woeful, and as bad a season has Rielly has had, he is still their best defender. Is Marincin on the ice if Rielly is healthy?

The way I see it the Leafs had a terrible 1st period and then didn't really let Ottawa do anything for 2 periods. It took a dummy play by a poopty dman that wouldn't be on the ice if the Leafs were healthy followed by a fluke tip-in for the Leafs to lose.

The Leafs shouldn't sign any big name UFA's, since their dollar per production ratio is far too high.

The UFA's they should sign are the ones still unsigned later in the summer, that have good underlying numbers compared to what they're going to be paid. I'm talking about bottom pairing ones to replace Polak and Hunwick.

The top 4 defenseman they need would either come from via trade (Bozak, JVR, Komarov, Kapanen, Bracco, etc. as trade bait), or from within (Nielsen/Dermott).

Either way, there is no rush.

I'm not sure. I thought that Nylander was okay today; some good plays, some bad. I was disappointed with Mitch, that was one of his poorest games. Hyman and Brown were excellent again for the most part.

And yes, the Shootout is all kinds of (frank)ed up
