Yes, and I've looked at that chart every game. It's on naturalstattrick. Don't really need a chart though to see that the Flyers got very few dangerous scoring chances, didn't get the puck to the net, and didn't go to the net. - MJL
So it's not system related? |

It's really really bothering me. All this dog poop about Hak not having "emotions" or some iffy depth personnel decisions that will probably get smoothed over as the roster changes don't worry me. This does. This is straight system stuff. You watch a team like the Pens change coaches and just roar back to life offensively. This stuff isn't small. The d-zone has been a complete mess, but the o-zone is equally one. The d-zone I feel like is individual mistakes by poopty players. The o-zone is systems. - Mononoke
Watching them use the same passive PK for two years is another annoying thing.
His usage hasn't been inspiring either. |

He's the Chip Kelly of hockey, college coach who is in over his head coaching pros. I've given him the benefit of the doubt til now, but this team seems completely out of sorts in pretty much all aspects of the game and I see no signs that it will turn around soon. If they go on and lose to the Isles and Rags, the pressure will be on Hextall to make a change - BiggE
Biggest mistake ever was having more inexperienced bumpkins as bench coaches. He needed guys with real heavy duty experience and knowledge. |

He won't be fired, but I'd clean house with the assistants and not think twice honestly, as I mentioned above. |

Exactly. I was shocked that once he was hired that they didn't bring in a veteran with NHL head coaching experience to join the staff. That is squarely on Hextall |

Disagree completely. It's not systems. Defense creates offense. When you're constantly trying to score against a tight 5 man defense, it's not easy getting the puck to the net, and into the dangerous areas of the ice. The game is controlled in the neutral zone. This team structurally is a mess, and the coach deserves criticism for that but it's not by design, it is a factor of execution and sheer will. They looked like a tired spent team. How can that be when they just came off of a bye week? No consistent forecheck, lack of neutral zone puck pressure. They're taking a lot of point shots and low percentage shots because that's all they have generated, and not because of the coaches system.

I'd be ok with moving on from him. It's not going to happen though. Hexy going to his 3rd coach in 3 years would be a bad look. |

Goes down to the AHL level too having Gordon-Cote as your brain trust teaching the kids. Last year they didn't even have a d coach.....so lord knows what the (frank) those two were teaching the d men. |

Wrong. Flyers did not have the personnel to play Laviolette's ultra aggressive system in his final year here.
