It's not a quality product. The front office and coaching staff isn't exactly instilling confidence either.

It's a young mans game now. Speed and skill reign supreme. They call hip checks penalties now. The Flyers have have been one step behind with the trends in the NHL dating back to early 1990s.

I was actually just thinking this. All of their shots-even on the PP- come from the lowest danger areas. They get nothing in the slot.

To make matters worse, they generate 0 odd man rushes, so they're basically just relying on points shots finding their way through traffic from bad angles.

- PhillySportsGuy

Stuff like this is a constant every game. The Flyers on the season are well below average from actual danger areas and above average from the blue line. It has to be the system: d shots, get screens. I like that, but you can't have that be everything. You need to take skilled, offensive chances. It does jibe with Hakstol as a "safe, reliable" guy though, doesn't? Someone whose system is a bit "college-y" expecting consistent, safe team plays to generate offense? This is the NHL. Teams are too good defending and goalies too good (except ours).

Yes their team shooting % is unlucky, but there's an easy argument they don't really create their own luck very much either. Also that big red spot on the right point is TOTALLY just Gudas lol.

No surprise here. This team was never a playoff team from the get go.

Read has turned back into a tomato after his red hot start.

Raffl is still at best a checking line forward.

Couturier's offensive game still doesn't exist.

Giroux's 5v5 game is as dangerous as a wet rag.

This team lives for the powerplay. Teams like that are generally bad teams. This team is terrible. Has been from the start.

They have very few forwards who can either fight through checks to get to the net or seek to be able to consistently find open ice. Basically Simmonds is good at the first and Konecny at the 2nd, and that's about it. And on D, Provorov seems to be the only guy with any innate hockey sense

Since we're airing grievances and there's an air of honesty, are you retarded? I've always wanted to know but thought it rude to ask.

It is a problem that can't be solved by time.

Our pipeline doesn't include players that will turn this team into anything more than a bubble team. Something huge needs to happen to change the course we're on. No way Hextall has the balls to do it.

Really reveals a lot about their play. Most of their players don't want to go to the high traffic areas and pay the price to score 5 on 5. Simple as that.

As bad as all the forwards are scoring, it can't be just the players scoring poorly or declining. It can't be. There are signs that point to this being an offensively uncreative, stifling system. "Get the puck on the wall, up to the D, screen/tip, get puck, repeat." It's not like Hak can't change things, but it's something that has existed both of his first 2 seasons. The Flyers just do not generate actual chances in the slot and stuff. You see no creative plays and passes. It's pure meat and potatoes. Boil em mash em stick em in a stew.

I am going to say something that i didnt think i would even say this year. Maybe inserting tyrell goulbourne would be nice a couple of games. Maybe a little chaos is needed.

It's hard to say their shooting/save percentages are unlucky when you see shot charts like that. This doesn't even factor in the odd man rushes, which are the highest danger chances.

I'm running out of patience with Hak. The Flyers are lacking talent in some areas, but I think the cause of their problems might be more system/usage than just raw talent.

I accidentally flagged this too

One could argue that the 10 game win streak was the worst thing to happen to this team
