Agreed but I'd make Nill sweat like an overweight pig on the equator to get Darling, but I think our #2 goalie is a way for the Hawks to get that forward they need.

The other guy I love on the Stars is Radek Faksa.

- RickJ

Kid plays with some bite to go along with his 1st round skill, and is a centerman to boot. Reminds me a lot of Philly's Brayden Schenn.

Better yet. But as much of a fan as I am, and have always been, Hanzal doesn't solve the LW problem on Toews' line.

Again would love to see Hanzal in a 3C slot, on any team, and feast on those defensive pairings.

I have been saying two things for months

1.We all had Crosby written off a year ago because the concussions had caught up to him
Wrong
Toews will bounce back but he's now a second line Center and Hawk nation needs to understand it
His numbers don't justify the salary and the debate over the leadership intangibles and if they justify the dollars will rage on.

2.In the meantime we play out this year with one RW or LW to play on the second line with Toews and whoever
Crawford , Kruger, Seabrook or a combo of the three are moved at the draft ✂️and the mini re build is on 🛠

I thought Schmaltz had a few nice steals. Teows just does not look good and as much as I think panik was a great find and love his speed he is not good in the cycle or in traffic. I still think we she split kane and Pan. Also If SIBIR would let Maxim out he would use up his ECL and then be a RFA next year. Not sure they let him out. in regard to D, why don't we send ROZ down? Bring up Pokka or Gus and give Campbell some days off. I think he will be fine in the playoffs which always have a day off. Also should send Tootoo down when kruger comes back. He is not going to factor in hte playoffs and better to get all the young guys some EXP.

any word on Kruger? also if you could move Craw for a LW and save some cash would you do it? What teams need G? WIN, STL, dallas. what about Nemi 50% retained + sharp and Radek for Craw and a Forward prospect.

5 takeaways from Hawk win: http://www.csnchicago.com...s-shutout-win-over-bruins

Your que LBR:

The Blackhawks' third line of Vinnie Hinostroza, Marian Hossa and Tanner Kero had the worst possession numbers among all skaters, each registering a 24 percent Corsi or below. But when their team needed them the most, they stepped up.

Willing to give them Darling for Sharp? Nill won't take TVR, he needs to solve his goaltending problem.
- RickJ

The Stars problem this year is not goaltending. Their 5v5 goaltending is actually toward the top of the league. Their pk goaltending us atrocious. Their D is junk. They need D a lot more that goalies.

I think the Hawks will need to try Schmaltz in the top 6 again. Panik doesn't belong there and he is more of a energy player compared to Schmaltz who is a playmaker.

The kid took the demotion to heart and you can see the difference in his game. He isn't perfect by any means, but you see him often making nice plays but it is hard I think when the line mates don't read the play as well.

Also, noticed at least 4 time last night, Panik tried to pass to Toews but put it behind him or it was a suicide pass. I just don't think he has what it takes for the top 6. Good guy and can contribute, but it shouldn't be his role.

All this said, Schmaltz has to keep it going to belong, but I think he should get another shot. Hawks should still look to add a winger, because you never know when the injury bug will bite again.

Chicago Sun Times reporting that Hawks inquired about Nyquist and Tatar from the Wings.....

Who could the Hawks possibly move to get one of these guys? Tartar obviously being the more cap logical guy but again, not sure on who they could/would move for them...

Nyquist has 2 more years after this one at $4.5M, plus he's an RFA so Detroit is going to want more for him because of that. I wouldn't Tatar who is a right shooting LW with an expiring $2.75M contract.

So something like this:

Panarin-AA-Kane
Hartman-Toews-XXX(trade acquisition)
Hinostroza-Kero-Hossa
Rasmussen-Kruger-Panik

....so maybe we should be looking for a RW instead of a LW? Or maybe move Hartman to RW?

- SimpleJack

Hartman is a RW, the lack of LWs has him playing there

And is a centerman with a lifetime 51.5% mark at the dot. When engaged, and suited up, this 6ft 6in 230lb guy is a beast who plays physical.

Would love to see what this guy could do as a 3rd line center vs lower defensive pairings.

Take every name you hear this time of year with a grain of salt, but I'm told #Blackhawks have at least sniffed around Nyquist and Tatar.

Either would be dandy with Toews, but not holding my breath. Nyquist is bullet fast. He'd be expensive, probably would cost Forsling or Schmaltz +

I read some place that the Blackhawks were also looking at defensemen. I'm wondering if that is to flip one to Detroit in a deal.

So lets just say their team overall behind the blueline isn't good enough.

And their 2 goaltenders are both being paid as #1's and I think both of us could name at least 12-15 goalies around the league who are superior. That is a problem.

Or to replace TVR if he is dealt to Detroit.

Here is the detroit story: Report: Blackhawks have 'sniffed around' Red Wings' Nyquist, Tatar

Tatar looked good with Hossa, just saying. RFA at the end of the season

"It’s hard to imagine a Blackhawk fan, watching the first 30 minutes or so of last night’s game in Boston, being anything but immensely frustrated with a team that has started way too many games this season getting outshot, outchanced and "out-efforted."

Actually I wasn't, but I could see how the average fan could be. I like to take a look at who we're playing and see how they've been playing. Just one of the little things I saw was they really hold teams to low SOGs, so I wasn't surprised. Their last five games:

Detroit - 25
NYI - 27
Philadelphia - 24
Nashville - 19
St. Louis -17

I wonder if that stems from the "Swedish connection" that the organization likes, as JJ reported the other week. I would like to think a RW or a LW, preferably LW, would help that Toews line if the coaching staff likes the new 3A line with Hinostroza, Kero, Hossa.

Hanifin and Tennyson have been struggling for a bit and Teravainen is coming off back-to-back bad games. Probably more of a message than any type of trade upcoming.

At what price would you be ok with trading for Hanzal?
- Assman22

Oh man, I sure wouldn't give up a first, maybe someone in the minors and a 3rd rounder if we still have one of those to trade
