I know what your saying, however trying to compare this to a Pens Team that had Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang, Kunitz, Schultz etc..etc.. is pretty far fetched
This Team does not have the One Ice Talent to go anywhere - BruinBlood
That's BS.
I'm not saying Boston is/was as talented as the Pens, but to say they don't have the talent is ridiculous. Marchand, Bergeron, Pasta, Krejci, Krug, Backes. Ignoring the etc. etc., put those six against these six and you have some exciting matchups. Spooner, Vatrano, Czarnik coming into their own.
Again, I'm not saying they are the best, but they have the potential to come out of the east. It is a wait and see. It's more exciting than the last two seasons I find. I think they had one of the best Powerplays yesterday in the 2nd period that I've seen all year (without scoring).
If we don't buy or sell, I am excited for next year. More development from those young forwards and figuring out what we have in Carlo and Miller time. Also boys in the farm knocking at the door.

I want the kids to succeed as well. I am a Carlo fan. Jury is out on the rest. This season hasnt been as exciting for me. Sure we get a glimpse of a couple young guys, but it has been far too reminiscent of the past two years. |

Because the Boston sports media are a bunch of poop disturbing hacks who are desperate for a story (present company excluded lol).
Here's the headline for the season
"Team in transition lacks depth to play consistent hockey"
The core is strong, the defense is a top 4 guy from being solid. It's the fact that we're relying on Riley Nash, Tim Schaller and other plugs to play regular middle 6 minutes and produce when they're simply not capable.
If this team had the same core, goalie and defense but had the ole Kelly Pev Ryder 3rd line, they'd be battling for the division lead
Edit: Also backup goaltending would help - Shaundre93
this would be a story in every market in the league. |

The poopty luck will run out here soon enough. I expect the ship to right itself. Out playing almost every opponent on a nightly basis and yet coming up empty has gotta be getting old for the guys. We need another goalie to rely on as well. Rask shouldn't play more than 55 games a year.
In closing, get ready for our fortunes to change cause there's no way a team can be this unlucky for much longer. Pasta and Marchy will heat up again. Bergy will snap his funk and everything will work out as the bounces start to go our way finally.
(frank) everyone cause I still think it's a team built for success. Great coaching and systems, top tier players who get it, and solid upper management. Yeah I said it. Call me out on it if you want but come back in 3 years when we have 5 emerging studs on D after everyone turns pro and gets a taste of it. Suspect moves? Yes. Forward thinking? Absolutely! |

This is my thinking as well, I believe the 18-19 season will include Krug, Carlo, C. Miller and McAvoy running the D with a guy like McQuaid or K. Miller as well.
On forward you have the core with possibly Krejci moved on, but Bergeron captaining the team with Marchand, Pasta, Vatrano, Backes, perhaps Spooner depending on his future. I really think Czarnik will be a valuable member and Debrusk and Senyshyn will be rounding out the top nine. Rask will still be in his prime.
It is a bright future. Everyone is getting what they wanted this year. The kids are playing, and yet, everyone is complaining. F that. Outplaying the opponents, outshooting, and owning the best penalty kill in the league? I'm ok with it to develop those kids. |
