Handcuffed by Swedish superstar(s), unstable in net, prospects that can't seem to turn the corner, destined for 9th place in the conference. The Nucks are the late 2000's leafs.

I hope for their fans sake that they don't wait 10 years to turn things around, but that won't happen with Benning in charge.

i agree with you it's too early to label OJ as anything. Defenders typically take longer to develop than forwards anyways.

true. I do allow guys like vantel and bj to bring me down to their level. I forget there are some good nucks posters.

Teams that have had some success without going to a full rebuild tend to have had a few huge fa/trade/late round picks as wins.

Dallas – benn, klingberg and seguin
SJ – Thornton and Burns
Bos – Chara & Rask


Vancouver is pretty far from anything like that, though maybe Trymakin is a something in a few years. But overall, I think benning has missed on some key opportunities to speed things up by passing on guys like nylaner/ehers, tkachuk and pastrnak.

Drafting JV might haunt Benning. But a player like him is going to take time. But I get what your saying. As for Tkachuck, he'd look good on any team. But we needed D in the system. Build from the back out. We also have Boeser on the horizon. I imagine you know him?
