Considering that baastin was playing for their coaches life, they weren't that good.
Hino and kero looking good lately.

hawks new weapon: HKH line...outstanding entry by hinny to kero and a great feed to hossa.
a game they should have deserved to lose...bruins did what other teams do to beat the hawks...push them to outiside and let em play catch and pounce on the give aways or get the takeaway..
prior to that goal the hawks maybe got inside for 2 or 3 decent chances
darling might just be in net for awhile...he was outstanding |

Such a shame to see a fine bruins group mismanaged into oblivion in 6 short years. - kinigitt
Julienne is a fine coach. Watched the last two games, with his charges and they laid it all down for him knowing he was in trouble.
Just a matter of time before the messages from all coaches becomes old and tiresome. |

Toews might be getting worse every game - hawkeytalkman
it pains me to pile on...but tonight 19 looked like 4th line plug on a losing team...
my goodness...he could not complete a pass; receive a pass; win a board battel..on and on...
at least 5 or 6 of his passes went to no one or were just way off; his receptions were just as poor .....what is going on |

Shut outs generally lead to points.
Great job Scott!
Not a thing of beauty, but 2 more points in the bank. - ArlingtonRob
Just saw this over on reddit:
Among goalies with at least 20 appearances, Scott Darling has the fifth-best save percentage (.928) in the NHL
ETA: But he also clearly recognizes the situation he's in here:

Unfortunately, this is our team. As many have said, sleepwalk through the 1st or actually get a lead that they can squander later. At least they got better as this game went on, but after that ugly 1st, where else can you go but up.... I guess I'm just getting used to us playing like this. Wasn't nervous until the end of the 3rd praying we could steal at least a point. We're gonna start clicking sometime.......right??? |

I actually enjoyed the game tonight. Its obvious Toews, Keith and Seabrook are no where near 100% |

Nice win by the boy's , played a patient game tonight .Darling was solid all night . Schmaltz played a very good game . Toews had a tough game ,put was still in there battling for every inch of ice , he will find his game . Noticed Kane take a run at somebody think it was Marchant . 5 on 5 still one of the best teams in the league ,and a dynamic duo in net look out ..GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Honest question. Where would this team be with average goaltending?

Wasn't talking about the coach. I was talking about all the trades and giveaways. Julien is a good coach. |

Who'd a thunk a team with Kane, Toews, Hossa, Breadman, Keith, etc would depend on goalie wins!!!!
I mean, they're more like the Devils of the 90's (without the neutral zone trap) then they are to any of the 3 Cup winners of the last 7 years. |

Wasn't calling you out. Bruins set their franchise back by years with that little trade with Dallas. But they had Bergeron and Krecji at one and two, both damn fine centers.
Front office fail. |

The win wasn't a beauty but it is two points in the bank. Kudos to the whole team for playing outstanding pressure defense in the third. I am starting to settle in and except the way the Hawks play this year ...just enough to win ! |

St. Lou with their goaltending issues, may fall further south. |

that team is having its problems keeping pucks out of the net...but they are really #91 and the clydesdales...yeah they got couple other decent skaters: schwartz and fabri...but that is really a nothing team...
they placed a bet on allen and it looks like they lost... |

The Hawks this season are an overachieving team in a transitional year. I would put money on the FO being taken back by how this team has performed (in terms of points). When you suit up as many rookies as the Hawks do consistently that aren't blue-chip types, it shows the hand of looking further ahead.
Tonight was once again a win the Hawks just seem to be getting this season. I don't know if it is luck or the team finding its way back into how much of the NHL seems to go. I think all of us Hawks fans have been privileged over the past few years to watch almost every game be dominated (win or loss) by the Hawks.
Also, Tanner Kero can play on my team any day. He looks like a solid bottom-6 forward with some offensive upside. Last year he seemed a bit tentative but always came to play. A work in progress, but a player you can watch and say "he gets it". |
