If the Rangers are cooking during the deadline, absolutely not. If they are average and showing no signs of competing in the playoffs, sure. - mdw7413
I worded my post pretty stupidly, but I'm talking about after the season. Forget that I said "a playoff team", that was dumb.
If the Cup final is over and the, let's just pick a random team, Wild call and want Grabner and say they'll give you their pick which is going to be 19th overall...would you trade him?

I may if someone offers something of great value.
I just don't know if the Rangers can win with this defense, but I have been wrong before

I don't know honestly. I don't think Grabner will repeat what he is doing this year, but I do think he is very important and fits with this team. Also, I may be in the minority, but unless we are picking top10 in the draft, I really could care less about 1st round picks. If I could get an established player with a combination of a late 1st round and a prospect or something, I would do it every time.
Well the good news for them is that there is plenty of time, between game 4 of the first round and when the Cup is decided, to mull it over.

I'm all for selling high on Grabner if someone else wants him AND the return is a long term fix. They have a glut at the Forward spot and as good as he has been, its an anomaly. Some times you have to know when to cash in and walk away form a good bet.
I'd do Grabner & Klein to STL for the Shatty rental in a heartbeat but I just cant see it happening.

I see the value in this deal but I don't like the idea of trading Grabner unless the season is lost. He fits very well with this Rangers team and losing him would ultimately be disastrous at this point.
Any doubt we won that Brassard-Zibanejad deal plus a 2nd . Buchnevich is going to be a phenomenal player. I mentioned last night trading Vesey would send a bad message to future college kids wanting to sign here. Vesey will be in the top 9 soon, either bc we trade someone for a dman or lose one to the expansion draft.
