As of right now, I would have no issue with Girardi as the 3rd pairing and Klein gone. Only problem becomes the expansion. Girardi, Staal and McDonagh protected.
Holden would have to be exposed and Rangers wouldn't be able to pick up a good defenseman in a trade.

I just don't see us trading for him. I think other teams will offer better packages at the deadline. If he comes I think it will be July 1, 2017

Raanta is very underrated. I wish there is a way we could lock him down longer but i don't blame him for trying to leave to get a starting gig

With the numbers Holden is putting up I could also see him being taken by Vegas. Guess it will become more clear after a coach is hired in March. We know if Roy is selected (just speculation) he would want Holden.

I'm not sure of the order, but every team loses one player and only one player, so I guess it really doesn't matter
