From the previous blog, the Blues would most certainly want Miller or perhaps Zucc, although I'm not sure he fits in a system that plays a north/south game. That said, Vesey is certainly the odd man out at his point, could be St. Louis would have interest, hate to see the kid go. But, you have to give to get, time will tell. - OLDSCHOOL#6
You know, I made the comment about Vesey in last night's blog, but upon further reflection I agree with the poster that said that trading him would set a bad precedent for future college UFAs. The Rangers have had obvious success going that route, so not sure I would want them to do anything that would adversely effect their future ability to do so.

I don't know how not playing him much helps his trade value, if they were truly interested in trading him, they'd probably be showcasing him.
I think chances are extremely low they'd deal Vesey.
He's never played this many games in his life, he's hit a bit of a wall, he's a work in progress. |

Rangers are going to lose a forward to Las Vegas. His ice time may be limited right now but he will get a bigger role next year or if an injury happens this year. |

And people wanted Hayes gone last year..
Obviously if there is a deal you can't pass up you should go for it, but sending out Vesey for a rental looks horrible. |

I do agree. I don't think this is unusual at all for a rookie. I also wonder whether he is the type of guy who could get scratched later in the year with a healthy lineup, because not sure he is the type of guy that does what you want fourth liners to do. My comment wasn't an indictment of Vesey, just an acknowledgement that he might not offer too much to this year team (with a totally healthy forward group). On the other hand, how often is the forward group totally healthy?
I will say this, I think Grabner is a key player to this team, even if he doesn't score on the pace that he's scoring now. And that contract is gold for next year. I realize it's hard to see how they protect him, but I think it would hurt to lose him.
