We keep saying that and he keeps scoring (assuming his value goes up with more points).
I absolutely think you'll see JVR traded. Just in the offseason. Most likely to Anaheim - walshyleafsfan
I can live with that.. But JVR is the type of guy teams will want for the playoffs.. So thats why i think he'll be moved well before the dealine. |

Even if Marincin is good to go they are still too weak imo..
JVR's value will never be higher.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Yup.
Complete proof that this teams d depth sucks.

I agree that we need another D, but is now the right time? Almost feels like we'd be dealing from a position of weakness. |

Corrado had nothing to do with the result of this game. He didn't look great but he hasn't played in a long time, he'll need a few games to get back into it. If he can get a few games in a row he could be a solid option. I'm more concerned about how rough Hunwick looked, he's gonna be playing important minutes. - 13sundin13
That's an amateur way of looking at it.
Corrado put his team down twice! Maybe his TOI was 10m and PMs were 4. Of course that screws up the team. Line matching, energy levels because Babcock uses him less and we are playing with 5 D, Hyman and Brown play the PK so their energy is down.....this list goes on.
Luckily for him, Hyman got the shorty but otherwise he sucks. He shouldn't be on the team. Neither should Bumlick.
Polak is the 7th, our D sucks in the middle and our 1, 3, 4 is okay.
Rielly, REAL #2
Gardiner, Zaits
#5, #6
Polak
That's how I see it.
Edit: if the team fixes those holes, we are definitely a threat. |

Hunwick appeared to be noticeably overmatched tonight, lots of poor clearances and missed passes etc...
I'm guessing Frankie gets one more to show some progress... if not Bablord will ask for a Marlies call-up who's a left hand shot. |

not disagreeing at all... but are realistic targets.... yes Anaheim has tons of youth that would seem to be available... the obvious Trouba situation, but other than Shattenkirk who I'm guessing would rather end up in the US long term... maybe Hamonic?
I'd think there are some others out there...but hopefully those might be doable without losing JvR... what else is there where JvR would need to be the centerpiece?

i get why people want to wait til summer to fix the hole, but there might not be a better time to make the trade than now. The Leafs shouldn't try to make a trade to put them over the top, they arent there yet. |

I only saw the first period, corrado didn't look bad at at. What happened, why is he getting ragged so much? Hunwick and polak were (frank)ing horrendous in the first, I see they're -3....... But all the talk about corrado bad. |

The entire D looked bad.. Even Zaits on Grabners breakaway goal..
Carrick is a (frank)ing giveaway machine.
As much as i want to rag on the defence, the forwards didn't do a good job either.. JVR just has no hunger.. The best forward was Hyman by a country mile. |

They were a mess in the first, assume by th score and the post game quotes that it didn't get any better.

This I agree with.
I guess LouShana know this better than us, so if we see a trade early then we know they agree. |

Corrado was bad.
He had flashes of good play but he's so rusty and out of sync, im half blaming Babcock for not letting him go down to the Marlies and let him sit in the press box for 39 games. Its ridiculous.
Oh well. |

Jeezus, can anyone just think he sucks?
Maybe he's not rusty. Maybe he's not out of sync. Maybe he doesn't need any more games. Maybe the highest paid coach in the league is good at his job. |

Oh I didn't realize I was dealing with a professional...
It's easy to get mad and blame one guy for a loss but in reality the whole team was a mess. Forwards were bad, Hunwick looked out of place, everyone was slow and not ready to play. Corrado is coming in with no playing time, the rest of the team is expected to elevate their game in support, not the other way around. He wasn't great but he's hardly the scapegoat on this one. |

He is the scapegoat and Hunwick is the scapegoat and Carrick is the scapegoat because they suck.
Until we have more talented players on the back end we won't be a deep playoff team.
Making excuses for players seems to be common practice in Leaf land.
If they suck bench them, trade them, waive them, Robidas Island them.....doesn't (frank)ing matter to me. They should just be gone and replaced with legit players for each position.
I know it's hard to find a #2D but we should be able to fill out the 5,6 D with guys that aren't complete liabilities.
It's professional sports. No player on the team should have to cover for another player unless you want to lose. A winning team has all 3F, 2D and 1G pulling their own weight.
Bottom line. |
