Really is messed how loose the Stars are. - Wildschwein
I don't understand how they scored so much on the Rangers. They aren't really....all that good.
Let me be clear first here, I'm not saying he isn't a good player. I know he is, it's obvious....but I just don't understand how Jamie Benn does what he does. I don't watch the Stars that often but when I do...I just don't see it with him. I have literally no idea how he (not this season) puts up such great scoring numbers. |

Watch him play the Oilers, then it becomes perfectly clear. (frank)er plays like Lindros against the Oil. You can't hope to stop him and rarely can you contain him.
But yeah he was pretty well invisible last night. |

Right place, right time apparently. He doesn't have blazing speed, but he does have a pretty good wrist shot. It's not in the Clutterbuck realm, but, whose is? |

You crotchety old (frank)er.
You're not entirely wrong I'll admit. I'm still trying to get over the ass raping performed upon the Oil by Okposo last year. |

Understandable. Think of him as slightly higher paid yet somewhat more skilled Andrew Ladd. |

snow said Ladd has been playing hurt. I really hope that correct. Lets see when he healthy.
I want to get excited but want to wait a few more games. Lets win Saturday and Sunday then suddenly we could only be 2-4 points out of last playoff spot.
Beating flyers Sunday would help gain some traction. |

I'd like to think I'm every Islander fans favorite person.
Edit: After a little backreading I am prepared to concede my title of favorite person to Emily Ratajkowski. Wowsers.

The sequence of events that led to JT's shortie damn near gave me a stroke last night. Very exciting stuff. - Wildschwein

He picked a good night to have one then. I think he's a good player, like you said, good shot. He goes to the front of the net, plays a heavy game. (sorry, I couldn't resist that one) |

He's hard to play against. He's like Andrew Ladd, except that Ladd is having an off season. |

what a hell of a game. Gotta give credit to Lehtonen, he was nothing short of magical. I couldn't be happier with their effort, especially in the 3rd when we kept attacking only up by 1. Cappy would never have allowed that.
Nothing but smiles today. |

I was concerned that we went 0-7 on pp last nights and here why. Our attacking style and fact our players challenged the opposing team dman rather than dumping puck in corner lead to getting 7 pp. . also lehtonen was only reason why we didn't score on pp last night. That game was a blow out otherwise.
And best of all we stayed in offensively zone most of game. Something we havent done all year. Let hope this wasn't a one and done Effort.
Let see if we see it again saturday.
Greiss back to back shutouts. Anyone else need some clarity to why we need to extend this guy. This guy has been better than Halak since day one burn people just didn't t realize it. He helped win isles first playoffs series last year. Wake up. We found our goalie. - Spartiarti
Thomas Greiss started his 8th straight game (4-2-2 with a 1.99 GAA and a 93.6 save percentage) and 10th in the last 12 games (6-2-2 with a 1.89 GAA and a 94.2 save percentage). In the eight straight games that he has started he has allowed only 16 goals, and 7 of those came in one games. He has allowed two goals or less in 9 of his last 10 games.
Somehow these jerkoffs lost 3 games where he only gave up 2
Three is a Magic Number
The Isles are 17-4-2 when they score at least three goals (including shootout winners) and are 1-13-6 when they do not.
The skinny is the best thing ever for isles stats

I've said it before. This team would be right there in terms of the playoffs if they did not waste time with Halak and just played Greiss. Cappy being fired earlier would have helped as well. |

Pretty sure we were all pulling the trigger on Crappy in early November, if not 6 years ago. |
