Do you know how many people in Ontario have no clue where North Bay is? They're all like ohhh its like 20 hours away huh? No, thats Thunder Bay... oh, never heard of it then...

So he's a gardiner(+)?
- MaximusAurelius

Nom because he doesn;t move the puck as well 5v5 and his team gets absolutely innundated with shots when he's on the ice.

So he's like Gardiner (-)

I acquired Matthews in a keeper league. I will not discuss what I traded to get him.
- daeth

I got him in one also. Traded Laine and Werenski to get Metthews and Gardiner.... I hated losing Werenski, but Matthews

So Gards > Risto?
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Defensively, yes. He suppresses shots and moves the puck out of the zone much more effectively than Risto.

Risto is top quality on the PP though.

Eichel > Matthews
O'Reilly > Kadri
Alex > William
Reinhart > Marner
Risto > Rielly
Okposo > JVR

... yes, this was the claim before the season started.

It wasn't a complete fail, Risto is > Rielly, this year anwyay.

- Aetherial

As good as kadri has been....O'Reilly is still the better overall player.

Not Really. Risto has been great offensively but is an absolute tire fire defensively. Not that Rielly has been great, but Risto.... oh boy

(As an aside, Rielly has more 5v5 points than Risto)

I can't comment on other games... but he was awful last night.... poor gaps and generally lazy, often flat footed.... looked disinterested - or perhaps just arrogance...

high draft pick, highly touted, over celebrated by Sabres management...

just about exactly what they're doing with Eichel as well

Remember in the summer when I was saying 55 points was a reasonable expectation for Matthews? That we should be elated with that type of production from a first year centre. He's on pace to hit that number before the end of February.

I was so wrong.

- BetterCallSaul

I was in the same boat.

Idk..

I think you guys are under-rating Risto....

He didn't have a great game, happens to everyone.

I was just referring to last night... but he did look disinterested.

Except for the douche-bag super tough after the final whistle last night. That was all worldly tough.

I feel like you said 75 pts for Matthews.

Side not he is 3rd in goal scoring. 1 behind carter with 2 less games played.

You think you can make it to the blog without a portable toilet?

I was thinking if I needed to take a watery poop, there was no better place to be than Tanner's blog.

But since you asked, no update yet. Feast or famine, I guess.

Kadri has had a very good year so far, but I think you are right, O'Reilly is the better player.

That was veteran leadership right there.

He cares.

but not as much as ginger-pube-head cares.

I think i did too.. 35G 40A

It's not just him tho, i had all the rooks with high numbers..

The knock was that if what i predicted was true then it would be the first time in the NHL rookies did that well and a team had 5 players scoring 20 or more goals.. or something like that.

I actually think that "Ginger Unicorn" would be a perfect label.
