Gardiner was great against worst team in league - he's not very good defensively and will have issues playing against top forward lines.

It was so annoying in the summer when i was making this point. Everyone it seems would argue that Eichel was better, or Eichel would have went ahead of him in the draft.. I get not wanting to have too high expectation for the kid, but he lets his play do his talking, it wasnt speculation imo as to how good he is going to be.

Matthews seems to need a challenge... I really think his goal is to be as good or better than McDavid.. No one has more drive than him.. other than maybe McDavid
